POSITION SUMMARY

The Global Transitions Implementation Manager will manage the project delivery of initiatives led by the Global Services PMO team. These initiatives include transition projects as well as complex projects from Finance, Procurement and HR functions. The role will lead resources to drive project execution, understand critical initiatives and new demand across functions while building deep expertise and positive relationships with site leaders. The manager will be responsible for the entire transition lifecycle, from project assessment (including value case) through project go-live and stabilization. A successful candidate will have a strong background in project / program management, customer engagement, partner management and strong presentation skills to senior partners to make an impact.

The position will report into the Director, Global Projects Management – NA/LATAM.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a sub-portfolio of projects across the region
  • Lead the lifecycle of transition projects from assessment to project completion
  • Support the development of a comprehensive and sustainable transition management strategy and tools to drive long term J&J GS strategy and business goals
  • Lead large project / programs as needed and assigned in Tampa or Bogota
  • Look for process improvement opportunities including project team engagement, project delivery, reporting and communication
  • Partner with J&J GS service delivery teams, GS customers and Transition leads, direct reports, to successfully plan and execute transition activities internal to J&J GS (e.g. moving work from high cost to low cost regions)
  • For either internal or external transitions, coach and lead Transition leads to coordinate and facilitate activities such as conducting assessments, building value cases, preparing process documentation, leading knowledge transfer, supporting cut-over activities, developing project-related communications and providing other project management support
  • Maintain open communication channel with the J&J GS leaders by summarizing and reporting on transition updates and issues
  • Provide direction, coaching, feedback, and, where appropriate, discipline to and through subordinate team members
  • Oversee selection, interview and onboarding for transition management team members
  • Manage and motivate team members to achieve and exceed service standards by identifying staff performance gaps, allocating time to listen, develop and provide constructive feedback for performance improvement
  • Develop transition management staff capability, knowledge, skills and understanding of the region / country or J&J GS functions by organizing knowledge sharing activities for members of the team / region / country supported
  • Adopt and lead a culture of inclusiveness and multi-cultural engagement through coaching and feedback to peers and the broader community in Global Services in alignment with the J&J’s Leadership imperatives
  • Develop a strong pipeline of global, diverse leaders within Global Services. Enable a Credo-based & High-Performance Culture within team

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • A Minimum of 6 years related business experience
  • 3 years of experience leading projects/programs
  • People leadership experience
  • Skilled at working within a shared services organization with cross-functional and cross-regional partners
  • Effective and positive relationship building skills with key stakeholders
  • Ability to reinforce a culture focused on continuous improvement while building employee-centric repeatable and sustainable processes
  • Track record to drive business results – identifies and capitalizes on opportunities, identifies risks/issues, assesses implications, formulates recommendations, and drives sound decisions that deliver results
  • Analytical and strategic thinker
  • Uncompromising dedication to client and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple projects, and daily planned and unplanned operational activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; formal presentation and facilitation skills
  • Can be trusted to maintain confidential information
  • Strong presentation skills; can speak across various forums and communicate to broad, diverse audience

Preferred:

  • Possess a knowledge of various project management/continuous improvement methodologies (i.e.; Agile, Lean, Six Sigma etc.)
