Job Description
Primary role is a senior role to be part of network operation support team and provides engineering support for L2/L3 operations. Manages, delivers and deploys aspects of lan/wan/Wi-Fi/F5 LTM-GTM / FW networks - Nexus switches, F5 BIG IP LTM/GTM, Wireless access points and controllers, Firewalls - implementation, engineering and day to day support of the same.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include translating customer requirements into functional feedback. Configure and install various network devices and services. Provides technical support to Various ATT teams/Client/Vendor and to Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues. Monitors the performance of the overall network and its elements, responds to and fixes troubles, and performs preventative and routine maintenance activities. Recommends systems improvements to overall network to maintenance impacts. Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor. Work with vendors and internal support teams to update, maintain, and patch all network infrastructure. The successful candidate will also perform complex changes to networks that impact customers nationally and internationally. Responsibilities will also include: Support regular Run& maintain work on these devices along with Project work.
Key Competencies and Skills:
Position requires a good understanding of large networks, network equipment, provisioning, trouble isolation, and equipment configurations. Proven hands-on network engineering experience on Nexus, Cisco & Aruba • Understand customer requirement & design a solution & then implement the same. • Expert knowledge of all LAN switching technologies eg Spanning Tree, VLAN management and VTP concepts – Needed on Cisco, Nexus & Junipers. • Expert knowledge on BGP, MPLS, EIGRP, OSPF routing protocols – on Cisco • Good understanding of wireless technologies cisco/Aruba • Vendor management, circuit provisioning, attending meeting with different carriers discussing optimizing current network environment and future growth 1) 8++ years of Cisco Nexus knowledge and work experience 2) 7+ years of F5 BIG IP LTM/GTM knowledge and work experience 3) 7+ years of Check Point Firewall knowledge and work experience 4) 7+ years of project engineering experience 5) 5+ years of Palo Alto firewall knowledge and experience 6) 5+ years of VMware NSX working knowledge 7) Good troubleshooting skills including packet capture tools like Wireshark, Tcpdump and Snoop 8) Good Oral & Written communication skills 9) 5+ years Aruba Wireless gear
Education and Qualifications:
Cisco certifications preferred
