Job summary

The Red Hat Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Consulting team is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join us in London, U.K. In this role, you will work on cloud-native development to catalyze customer journey to digitization and cloud solutions and accelerate growth with a focus on modernization, adoption of cloud, and migration of existing applications and software to modern platforms. You’ll become a trusted advisor, promoting customer adoption of Red Hat's tooling, methodology, and approach for application containerization and microservices architecture as an integral part of customer value-added solutions. You’ll be expected to apply your experience specializing in application portfolio analysis, application refactoring for containerization, migration planning, and delivery guidance. In order to accelerate Red Hat’s application and container platforms adoption at scale, you’ll be working closely with Red Hat’s sales, presales, consulting, application development, Centers of Excellence (CoEs), Open Innovation Labs (Labs), and partner teams while aligning strategies with Red Hat’s internal practice, engineering, and program leads.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Serve as an EMEA subject matter expert for application development and modernization
  • Establish, guide, and catalyze the application development and modernization community within Red Hat and partners
  • Guide the adoption and integration of Red Hat’s tools, methodologies, and frameworks for application development and modernization, containerization, and microservices architectures
  • Deliver discovery workshops to Red Hat and partner associates and train and mentor them so that they can deliver discovery workshops as well
  • Update and create frameworks and processes for customer and consulting teams to deliver solutions and templates, projects tools, delivery guides, migration guides, etc.
  • Identify any gaps in Red Hat's assets for partner enablement and ensure that these gaps are effectively addressed by the development team
  • Work in close collaboration with Red Hat's Global Partner Technical Enablement team to develop and deliver training content and materials for alliance partners
  • Support the EMEA and country-level stakeholders with demand generating activities like events, webinars, and publications
  • Enable, coach, and mentor sales and presales teams in opportunity qualification and leading discovery sessions, specifically for application development and modernization
  • Serve as a trusted technical and professional advisor for our partners and customers
  • Gain agreement on decisions from the committees of application development or modernization projects
  • Be the expert advising a large number of project teams across the EMEA region
  • Prepare and conduct enablement activities like webinars and classroom or online trainings
  • Coach and mentor delivery teams on all phases of ongoing projects
  • Establish feedback loops and create regular checkpoints with project delivery teams
  • Support the process of channeling and creating customer references
  • Work closely with system integrators (SIs) and partners during all phases of the projects
  • Communicate on a consistent basis with the regional resource managers, consulting teams, consulting management, business and sales teams, and key stakeholders that focus on container adoption
  • Partner and engage with key customers and Red Hat stakeholders to build out a referral base for the solutions and to evangelize the solutions

Required skills

  • Background in consulting as a prerequisite to become a trusted advisor
  • Knowledge of the Application Modernization and Migration (AMM) program
  • Excellent presentation, moderation, and teaching skills
  • Ability to adjust your behavior to accommodate different audiences ranging from developers and Chief Information Officers (CIOs) to line-of-business and board level executives
  • Record of carrying out modernization projects across presales, effort estimation, project implementation, and project management
  • Record of serving as a multiplier and sharing project learnings with your peers
  • Expert architecture knowledge of cloud state-of-the-art application infrastructures and container technologies
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and specifically with tools like Puppet, Red Hat Ansible Automation, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), application life cycle management and continuous integration (CI) and delivery (CD), leading DevOps conversations, microservices, operators like Camel-K, Knative, and Istio, and integration components like Red Hat AMQ, 3scale by Red Hat, and Red Hat Fuse
  • Ability to work with globally distributed teams across Red Hat’s consulting, sales, business, and engineering teams and cooperate with other regional practice leads
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks and work proactively
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
