The Role:
Tesla is looking for an autonomous, business-oriented executer that can manage all phases of the site development process for Tesla Charging products and Real Estate footprint of Sales and Service locations in the market. The Infrastructure Project Manager finds the best places to establish Tesla’s presence. They manage site selection, contract negotiation with site hosts, and site development. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring current and future Tesla customers have the best experience at the most convenient Tesla Sales, Service, Supercharger and Destination Charging locations. The responsibilities of this position may change over time. This role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the programs, projects and our customers. The Infrastructure Project Manager also collaborates cross-functionally with internal teams including Sales, Service, Retail Development, Engineering, Design as well as Legal, Finance and Lease Administration, and external partners including landlords, developers, and brokers .
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for site selection, negotiation and development for new Sales, Service, Supercharger and Destination Charging locations across Mexico
· Develop, support, and manage vendor service network for Home Charging installations in Mexico.
· Manage the full installation and construction costs of Tesla Sales, Service, Supercharger and Destination Charging locations.
· Work closely with installation partners to assess and manage installation costs and timeline
· Manage and maintain broker relationships.
· Lead efforts to obtain all necessary approvals from utilities and permitting authorities
· Keep up with industry trends, new technologies and best practices
· Gather and evaluate economic, demographic and other market data to identify and prioritize key markets.
· Work with internal business partners to create business case justifications.
· Collaborate with internal business partner to validate our Real Estate and Supercharger strategy including lease terminations, consolidations, expansions, renewals and relocations.
· Manage deal timeliness, property standards and budget goals alongside internal partners.
· Negotiate LOIs and work letters for properties selected and negotiate leases alongside Legal team
Requirements:
· Business level English (written and spoken)
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from a leading university
· 5 + years business development and/or vendor management experience, or other relevant experience
· Excellent communication skills: strategic listener, conscious conversationalist, and the ability to persuade and impact people from a wide range of roles and backgrounds
· Aggressive approach to reducing risk and getting ahead of problems before they impact project timelines
· Experience with contracts, real estate, utility planning, charging infrastructure, charging infrastructure policy, or local permitting a major plus
· Comfortable with conversations around electrical engineering
· Customer facing experience is a plus
· Proficient in Excel
· Possession of valid driving license
