SUMMARY

As a Technical Program Manager supporting the Ad Platform Team at Hulu, you will be partners in crime with engineers, helping to ensure they have time and information to code from start to finish. You are the front line in separating the wheat from the chaff and making sure critical information is shared, while noise is kept to a minimum. This requires you to be fluent in both technology to work with developers, and the language of product, marketing, and operations. You will also need to move quickly; we use a wiki, calendar, and whatever agile tools the team discovers work best. For this particular role, you are encouraged to dive deep into ad serving and distributed systems and get into the details with details. You will drive initiatives that span multiple development and business teams as well as drive efficiency within a single team. You should have expertise with scrum and agile, more than just theory where you should be able to demonstrate driving development efficiencies in software engineering teams. Above all else, you will lead the inevitable change over the lifecycle of a project; lead with vision, plan with foresight, execute with precision, and balance change with grace. The best TPMs at Hulu are owners – they hold themselves accountable to successful execution of the entire project end to end.The Ad Platform team is the engineering team that builds the advertising experience for Hulu as a whole, ranging from Ad Server and Ad Delivery, campaign management, reporting as well as all the integrations internal and external that come with evolving and maintaining an elite video advertising business.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Own project schedules and drive deliverables to completion
• Successfully partner with engineers to quickly and efficiently release products
• Dive into details and do whatever is necessary to keep the show running
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to launch new products and features
• Lead different projects with shifting and contending priorities
• Distill product requirements into actionable items for engineers
• Document complex business logic for multiple back-end services
• Run complex technical integrations with 3rd party advertising services
• Act as scrum-master, running sprint planning meetings, retrospectives, tracking burn-downs, etc when necessary
• Communicate concisely and effectively with minimum overhead while being maintaining a One Team approach

WHAT TO BRING

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, degree in a relevant technical field, or equivalent relevant experience
• 2-5 years of experience in software program management, preferably with focus on data - reporting, business analytics, relational databases or big-data technology
• 2-5 years of experience in software program management
• Have a do what it takes attitude. Be flexible, adaptable and a team-player first
• Experience shipping multiple products in an agile software development environment
• Proven understanding of systems architecture, design, and implementation
• Ability to interact with a diverse set of technical and non-technical partners
• Strong analytical skills and passionate about answering questions with data

NICE-TO-HAVES

• Previous experience working with backend services
• Previous experience with web service API design and/or System integration or development experience
