Design and Construction Manager

Description:

Providence is calling a Design and Construction Manager to Providence St. Joseph Health which can be located in either Santa Monica or Torrance, California.

The Design & Construction Manager can report to either the Regional Director, Design & Construction Management role or the Senior Design & Construction Manager depending upon the region and scope of the portfolio within the region assigned. This role is a member of a capital project team which may include internal and external key stakeholders as well as third party consultants and vendors.

In this position you will:

• Have responsibility for providing project leadership, coordination and facilitating teamwork of project teams to meet project goals.
• Be accountable for developing and maintaining project budgets.
• Have responsibility for working with department managers, service line directors and chief executives to develop project scopes.
• Have responsibility for developing and managing RFP's for architectural and general construction services.
• Review, score, interview and recommend for award.
• Have responsibility for developing infection control procedures with safety and accreditation teams.
• Monitor compliance of procedures during construction.
• Review and approve architectural add services, construction change orders, invoices and construction pay applications.
• Manage vendors to ensure top quality work is being performed in a timely manner to ensure good stewardship of financial resources.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

• 3 years experience in healthcare construction management
• 6 years of construction management experience
• Driver’s license

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management or Business Administration
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate
