Facebook is looking to hire an individual to lead our outreach to the National Economic Council and the federal agencies which it oversees on economic policy issues that are critical to Facebook’s mission of connecting the world.
The ideal candidate will have established relationships and experience working at the federal level on economic issues, strong knowledge of the digital economy and internet policy issues, and expertise in policy debates that impact the technology sector in areas such as taxation, payments, international trade and financial services. In this role, you will help the U.S. policy team develop thinking on key public policy issues that impact the future of the internet at one of the world's leading internet companies. You should be passionate about the services we provide and the people that we serve.
This is a full-time position located in Washington D.C. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop policy positions on national economy policy issues affecting the Internet
- Identify, monitor, and analyze U.S. economic policy issues affecting Facebook at the domestic and international level
- Articulate our policy positions in briefing papers, consultation responses and internal policy meetings
- Advise Facebook teams on economic public policy matters to guide development of products, services and policies
- Represent Facebook in meetings with economic stakeholders
- Communicate Facebook’s positions in public presentations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, Public Policy, Business or related field
- 8+ years of public policy experience (2+ years of economic policy experience)
- Experience in U.S. economic policy development
- Experience in technology and internet related policy issues
- Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- JD, MBA or MPP
- Experience working on economic issues in the U.S. government
- Track record of communicating on economic policy issues
- Experience working in the tech industry
- Experience working with senior policy makers
