Role Summary:

The Executive Data & Analytics Leader will be a key inspiring leader in driving all levels of strategy, vision and execution to deliver on the mission of exceptional Data Science within GE Aviation Digital. You will influence and share a point of view by establishing the strategic road-map and engagement model for data science and analytics utilizing business and industry knowledge. You will lead strategic consulting engagements to build data science assets and work to implement.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, You will be responsible for developing data science solutions for Aviation Digital products and driving data science professional services with airline customers. You are expected to be a spokesperson and advocate on relevant data science issues to both internal and external audiences and partners. You will collaborate with a best-in-class team made up of the full spectrum of the data science function (data scientists, structured and unstructured analytic researchers, data management, and data engineers) across the division to develop and own the strategy while working in a fast-paced, challenging, and data driven environment. As a technical leader, you will guide and lead teams addressing statistical, machine learning and data, identifying problems in the Aviation industry and consultancy development environment.

Build and lead a data science and analytics team focused on product development and professional services

Partner closely with Engineering and Product Management to build analytics into our products.

Act as a key leader with vision in defining big data roadmap, business intelligence and data strategy; using data assets in support of strategy.

Drive ownership, management and delivery of solutions to business clients and establish a robust vision for growing a Data Science team.

Spearhead the relationship development and technology evaluation for new prospective partnerships.

Drive evangelization and education of Data Science services by communicating the vision and value of advanced analytics.

Analyze and tackle complex business problems by using industry knowledge and expertise and being a proactive thinker offering recommendations in data science to inspire change and deliver results.

Actively champion the value of data as a strategic business asset and revenue generator by selling ideas and being able to transform those ideas into action.

Promote the use of new technology and industry leading trends as a creative thinker.

Build and maintain the customer relations by establishing a rapport and work diligently to establish credibility and trust as a business advisor.

Advocate decision-making and get “buy in” while building partnerships with clients and across the organization by fostering collaboration.

Create and Implement data strategies, standards, procedures and accountability policies.

Be a creative problem solver and generate ideas that will benefit the company; recognize opportunities within the market and quickly mobilize to take advantage of those opportunities by creating, articulating and executing against the strategic plan.

Expertly guide and influence through change management and communicate directions clearly.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree. A minimum 12 years of professional experience. Ability to travel more than 50% of the time

Desired Characteristics:

Significant experience evangelizing the value of data analytics and ability to effectively communicate the value to various audiences preferably with a strong “consultancy” experience

Analytics development for industrial applications in a commercial/industrial/airline setting.

Require significant machine learning and research experience

An advanced degree/Ph.D in Computer Science/ Data science

Possesses a combination of airlines/aviation knowledge, technical skills, people skills, and the ability to guide a data strategy.

Validated and externally recognized expertise in data science technology and industry trends

Proven expertise in the design, development, verification, and validation of descriptive, applied, predictive, and prescriptive analytics for industrial applications

Comfortable and experienced in thought leadership programs. public speaking and interfacing at the C-level.

Trusted advisor to leaders gained by listening, understanding and offering solutions to their core business needs in order to build insightful analytics.

Ability to influence others and lead small teams. Build initiatives of moderate scope and impact!

Hands on with a consultative approach.

Good interpersonal and leadership skills

Strong results driven personality, with a high level of enthusiasm, energy and confidence; a true player/coach.

Exceptional analytical, communication, organizational and presentation skills

Exceptional managerial skills; can hire, train and mentor a highly functioning data science team.
