Primary Function:

The Regional Director is responsible for the J.P. Morgan’s Securities business in their Market. This position is responsible for leading and coaching the financial advisors throughout their practice, making sure they are fully utilizing the firm’s resources to deliver a complete, best in class wealth management experience.

  • Drive and retain new client acquisition through the coaching and motivation of team to engage referrals, personal and professional networks, centers of influence
  • Contribute to the overall performance of the business by helping identify, recruit and retain top talent/financial advisors in their region
  • Build relationships with centers of influence in your market
  • Build relationships with JPM partners other referral sources
  • Work closely with the management team to help drive, grow and monitor the business
  • Manage revenues, expenses, and pre-tax direct contributions for the N.Y. office
  • Oversee risk management for the branch
  • Coach Investment Professionals to retain and acquire new clients, increase share of wallet, seize cross-sell opportunities and grow
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, salesmanship, and outcome-orientation
  • Work with clients to resolve problems, minimize losses, and avoid litigation
  • Work with Supervisory and Compliance functions to ensure best practices
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge or demonstrated understanding of investments, banking and trust concepts including, but not limited to: asset allocation on structured portfolios, managed portfolios, brokerage accounts, portfolio reviews, deposit and loan solutions, basic trust and estate products and identification of wealth management opportunities
  • Connections within Financial Services and centers of influence within the Market
  • Experience coaching and helping financial advisors grow and develop new and existing relationship’s
  • Strong relationship management and team building skills; views team concept as critical to model
  • Experience working with high net and/or ultra-high net individuals and families or related fields within financial services

  • Ten plus years’ of direct management as well as experience in sales and relationship management in financial services field such as commercial, private banking, trust, investments of investment management
  • Licenses 7, 9, 10, 23 or 24, 63, 65 (or 66) required for position
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, JD or CFA or other professional designation strongly preferred.
