What you’ll be doing...

The Global Professional Services (PS) organization provides consulting, design, implementation, and management to Verizon’s Enterprise, Medium Business, and Government customers. The Business Consulting Principal (BCP) may be aligned to a particular vertical market or cross-vertical, and is responsible for driving Advanced Communication Cx/Dx Customer Experience Solutions and PS revenue. The Business Consulting Principal is responsible for establishing strong and mutually beneficial business partner relationships with senior level executives among premier Verizon customers. Your overarching objective is to gain strategic insight into the clients’ business operation to identify the potential for Verizon solutions to identified business requirements that will result in increased revenue generation.

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Drive strategic revenue by working with customers on transformational business activities.
  • Integrate customer’s business drivers focused on technical solution sets from Verizon solution pillars.
  • Review and analyze current technology infrastructure and its ability to support strategic corporate objectives.
  • Translate customer business issues/opportunities into technical solution/business requirements.
  • Identify and propose specific strategies, initiatives and remedies necessary to align technology infrastructure with corporate objectives.
  • Support development of business drivers, business case and high level program implementation plan.
  • Consult with client business units to gain understanding of business requirements and value to the organization.
  • Map conceptual designs, transition plans, and technology to address business unit requirements.
  • Build and communicate the value proposition of the end-to-end solution to client executives and drive transformational business activities.
  • Support customer and Verizon cross-functional teams through the sales, implementation, and support lifecycles.
  • Partner with cross-functional Professional Services teams to develop integrated end-to-end solutions for customer.
  • Partner with bid management organization to build out detailed RFP responses and contract development.
  • Participate as a member of the Senior Leadership Team in the Client-facing Governance Program.
  • Lead strategic architectural planning to achieve goals by prioritizing initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future solutions.
  • Position Professional Services as a key differentiator to assist in the customer’s transformation efforts.
  • Assess and communicate risks associated with investments related to the architectural vision.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses with client for architectural spending and initiatives.
  • Contribute to Sales Team development of Strategic Account Plans for premier customers.
  • Communicate highly technical solutions to non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in/lead strategic business presentations (e.g. Executive Briefing Centers) to premier clients.
  • Assist in development of metrics to measure the success of Verizon’s custom solutions in meeting the client’s business requirements.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Seven or more years of experience in providing managed IT and/or Telecom services to enterprise clients (Public or Private) at the CxO level.
  • Five or more years of experience in the following:
    • A customer- facing Pre- and Post-Sale technical consulting technical role (i.e. Solutions Architect, Portfolio Partner) assessing and advising the clients of their current and future needs.
    • Consulting for large scale complex, multi-departmental solutions.
    • Demonstrated and verifiable track record of prior successful customer engagements. (Examples of solution designs, statements of work and/or technical project plans to be provided).
    • Architecture to include conceptualization, definition, development and implementation of solutions with accountability for end to end delivery.
  • Experience in one or more vertical businesses (Public Sector, Retail, Finance, Manufacturing, Utilities, Healthcare, Logistics, etc.) for which the enterprise architecture is being developed.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s in engineering or Computer Science related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Master’s degree or MBA.
  • Big 5 consulting experience.
  • Leading industry certifications at least one or more of the following technology areas is highly desired:
    • Architecture: TOGAF
    • Service Delivery/Governance: ITILv3
    • Project Management: PMP, PgMP
    • Networking: Cisco, Juniper
    • Unified Communication: Avaya, Polycom, Cisco, MS...
    • Contact Center: Genesys, Five9, Nice, Nuance, Aspect...
    • Cloud: EMC, VMware, Rackspace, AWS, IBM, Oracle
    • Mobility: Aruba, Citrix, Cisco
    • Managed Applications: Oracle, SAP, IBM
    • Machine to Machine (M2M)/ Internet of Things (IoT): Cisco, Oracle, Axeda, Telefonica, Orange
  • Successful project delivery in a Fortune 100 company.
  • Successful delivery with matrix reports in a cross discipline project.
  • Experience preparing customer-facing material such as RFP responses, proactive proposals and solution designs.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects across various organizations and global regions.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution and consensus-building skills with business and technical groups.
  • General knowledge in all of the following with knowledge in the development and implementation of at least (2) technologies:
    • Unified Communications.
    • Contact Centers.
    • Advanced Networking.
    • Advanced Delivery Methodologies.
    • Security.
    • Mobility.
    • Machine to Machine (M2M)/ Internet of Things (IoT).
    • IT Applications Management (SOA, Web Services, RTE).
    • Data Center.
