As a University Recruiter, you’ll have primary ownership for target university relationships and joint ownership for candidate management with the internal Talent Acquisition team. Responsibilities will include building the college recruiting strategy while partnering with University Career Services teams, Academic Department leaders, Corporate Relations Managers, Hiring Managers and Human Resources to attract and retain early talent across Collins Aerospace.
This includes ownership of the recruiting strategy for targeted internship, co-op and full-time early careers roles, as well as support of the Mid-west on-campus recruiting activities and events that support the placement of students across Collins Aerospace business units throughout the United States. You will have full responsibility of university relationship strategy, campus recruiting team management, college candidate sourcing, candidate pipeline management, retention program management, internal/external stakeholder management and ensuring standardized processes and results exist across channels.
Responsibilities:
- Primary liaison for Collins Aerospace Mid-west university partnerships and engagements.
- Ownership of internship, co-op and new graduate recruiting strategy internal to Collins, including partnership with campus team leads, executive sponsors, internal functional leadership, internal Talent Acquisition Partners and Hiring Managers.
- Execute full life cycle for all early talent recruiting support externally including but not limited to:
- Develop and manage execution of targeted University Relations activities for candidate sourcing to support early talent programs and intern hiring (through Career Fairs, Referrals, On-Campus Interviews, Candidate hand-off to Talent Acquisition team, engagement with student organizations and faculty/staff Partnerships, etc.).
- Manage campus team activities and create/execute campus ambassador training to provide a consistent campus approach for Collins Aerospace.
- Manage the candidate review/response feedback process from interviews/campus teams, including facilitation of “Get to Yes” candidate closing.
- Align with Intern/Co-Op and Rotational Program Specialist to help ensure roll-out of a robust program that supports hiring managers in conversion of interns into Collins Aerospace new graduate hires and returning internship and co-op re-hires.
- Assisting with the management of current intern / co-op candidates through to interviews.
- Driving the placement of Intern /Co-Ops via end of summer assessment process to new graduate opportunities or returning intern/Co-Op role(s).
- Partner with HR, Hiring Leaders and Talent Leads to develop recruitment strategies, understand position requirements, set expectations, and maintain communications throughout the University Relations process.
- Work with Talent Acquisition team to ensure top identified candidates move from pre-qualifying events through application and screening to hiring manager slates.
- Assist in the sourcing of candidates through referrals and executing of campus recruiting strategies (social media, networking, and niche resources, etc.). Build and maintain a robust talent pipeline of targeted passive candidates with specific industry and/or functional expertise.
- Ensure alignment with Talent Acquisition when help is needed to align candidates to phone screens, in-person interviewing, provide candidate assessments and recommend viable candidates to hiring managers for future consideration.
- Act as a peer coach with other University Recruiters; as well as provide guidance to other HR Business Partners, Talent Leads and Hiring Managers on early talent acquisition processes and system compliance.
- Participate and execute administrative tasks as needed.
- Lead/participate in key Human Resources projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Degree in Business or Human Resources or related field is preferred
- A minimum of 5 years in recruiting or related field; large industrial manufacturing/distribution/aerospace and/or multi-site organization preferred
- Combination of campus and client aligned recruiting partnership is preferred
- Knowledge of campus recruiting required
- Demonstrated capability in providing candidate assessments and conducting in person interviews is required
- Must have ability to develop and execute candidate sourcing strategies and programs; Direct experience in coordinating/scheduling on-campus programs, branding events, career fairs is preferred
- Strong candidate assessment and in-person interviewing skills required, including ability to effectively evaluate candidate's viability for organization fit and fulfillment of position requirements (Behavior Based Interviewer Certified)
- Must have capability to represent the company professionally and appropriately within University Relations and on-campus in a national employment market
- Experience with HR Systems and ATS Systems is required
- Excellent collaboration and presentation skills (both oral and written) are required
