Summary
The Instructional Designer is responsible for performing analysis, design, development and evaluation of instructional materials to support the ADD’s Service organization and the products supported. Subject matter expert in instructional design models and adult learning principles and techniques. Build training content with input from technical subject matter experts. Partner with senior trainers to ensure successful planning and execution of training program.
Responsibilities
· Perform in-depth analysis to on job tasks and performance to determine training needs.
· Define learning objectives, measures of student learning, learning materials design specifications, and learning impact (e.g. business results).
· Design learning assets for multiple methods of delivery (instructor-led, web-based, etc.).
· Develop training assets: create storyboards; web-based content; interactive activities; capabilities for multimedia delivery; instructional graphics and diagrams.
· Utilize multiple systems and tools for asset development such as Articulate, Adobe Captivate, and PowerPoint.
· Implement measures to track outcomes and ensure alignment to business objectives.
· Collect information and feedback from internal/external stakeholders during the design process and content creation process.
· Collaborate with trainers from start to finish – participate in development of training plan; assessing effectiveness of delivery method and content; and evaluating overall success of training efforts its impact.
· Maintain accurate record of all documents, such as training content, and regularly review and update information.
· Develop and manage training development project charters to ensure timely delivery of training materials to meet the objectives of the program.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Computer Science, Training and Development, or related field.
· Typically requires 7 years of experience, with a minimum of 3 years of training and development.
· Experience developing and deploying multiple methods of training (instructor led, on-the-job, web-based and media-supported training) for world wide audiences
· Demonstrated ability to apply adult learning principles and techniques.
· Strong preference for candidate with experience with instructional development in the medical industry.
Willing to travel globally up to 10% to support development sessions of training materials.
The position can be filled as an individual contributor (Grade 16) or a working supervisor (Grade 17) with direct reports depending on level of experience and aspiration.
