DescriptionThe Technical Product Manager, Cloud Services will own the connectivity technology that underpins Videojet cloud and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) / Industry 4.0 initiatives and associated businesses. This person will be tasked with identifying better, more robust ways for Videojet to connect industrial equipment to its cloud systems and for driving global adoption of these connectivity technologies. This person will establish connectivity product requirements and work with R&D teams to integrate these requirements into connectivity devices as well as across Videojet marking and coding equipment.
Responsibilities include:
Global Connectivity Owner
- Build and prioritize connectivity R&D roadmap to facilitate cloud-enabled business growth and solve critical issues with existing technologies
- Identify technical barriers to connection sustainability and/or connected device adoption and create solution requirements to these barriers
- Gather input from a variety of sources (Customer connectivity stakeholders, field technical teams, equipment product owners / planners, service product managers, internal equipment reports) for new product concepts to solve customer connectivity challenges and to facilitate the deployment of new cloud-enabled features
- Manage technical connectivity requirements for all new Videojet products
- Coordinate daily and weekly Videojet connectivity reporting, including internal and external usage and identifying potential emerging connectivity issues
- Assist local Videojet commercial teams with deal connectivity and demo support, as needed
Technical Escalations Management
- Manage global technical escalations for VideojetConnect product lines
- Train global and regional technical support teams on installation and use of connectivity products / platforms, including regular cadence for communication of technology enhancements to regional teams
- Work with country-level technical teams to manage IT and connectivity challenges with Videojet equipment
- Work with R&D project manager(s) to plan sprint process to resolve escalations and balance resourcing of MOL / escalation work vs. new product and feature development
Market & Competitive Assessment
- Get to Gemba to really understand customer packaging environments, connectivity challenges, IT concerns, and unmet needs
- Maintain knowledge base of industrial connectivity / IIoT trends and technology developments, including emerging customer requirements, competitive actions, and other packaging industry developments that may affect Videojet printer interactions
Job Requirements QualificationsEducation and Experience:
- The successful candidate will have the following experiences, characteristics, and competencies:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or Business Management
- Advanced degree in business (MBA) is a plus
- Minimum of 4 years of overall work experience with a strong background in systems engineering, IT, and/or product management
- 2+ years of Product Management experience in software, network management, IoT or M2M environment
- Develop project business cases and customer Return on Investment (ROI)
- Deep appreciation for the Customer mindset. Confirmed ability to think Customer-first; successful track record in building strategies and solutions to meet Customer needs
- Has demonstrated project leadership including successfully defining and launching product innovation
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development environments is desired
- Able to communicate clearly in both verbal and written forms with diverse audiences internal and external to the company
- Interpersonal Skills – Validated ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority and provide influence to achieve business results across multiple teams who may have different goals.
- International Skills – Able to understand, recognize and work within a multicultural and international environment.
- VOC Skills (interviewing and observing) – Able to build strong rapport and relationships with customers as to gain in-depth understanding of customers’ problems and needs.
- Travel – Ability to travel 20% nationally and internationally

- Reports to: Director, Service Product Innovation
- Key Relationships: Works closely with Hardware and Software R&D teams, Global and Regional Technical Support and Escalations teams, local connectivity champions, regional Service Product Managers, Procurement, Technical Training, and key customer IT stakeholders.
