The External Sales Engineer is a critical position for the Xylem business, ideally candidates will be based in close proximity to Brisbane.

In the role, you will support the company's key growth initiatives, capitalise on our product portfolio to build and maintain deep customer relationships in the area, and identify and secure new business opportunities.
You will be keen to promote Xylem and its portfolio of products – reporting directly to the National Mining & Metals and Industrial Vertical Key Account Manager – as Xylem continue to invest heavily into this region – with strong support from National BDM – Industrial and team of Product Marketing & Application specialists based in Brisbane

About You:

  • Experience in a professional industrial environment in a sales role focused on sourcing new business;
  • Pump / Water industry experience preferable but not essential;
  • Ability to travel to Central QLD – and service this growing market sector for Xylem
  • Engineering or Mechanical Qualifications Highly Desirable – or ability to demonstrate sound exposure
  • Advanced interpersonal skills – with ability to deal with both HQ and Site Based Mining Clientele
  • Experience in c-suite engagements, and technical presentations, highly regarded
  • Exposure to working within a Global / National business – within matrix organisational structures
  • An exposure or working experience to consultative selling would be beneficial
  • Solution Mindset – providing bespoke or customer driven support- opposed to product mindset
  • Drive to succeed, and be part of a high performing business unit within global leader in field
  • Minimum 5 years of client facing role types, delivering YoY growth against market

About the Role:

  • Travel to Central QLD, on semi frequency – up to 50% of Time (or as required)
  • Promote Xylem holistic brand stack- as a water management business to a buoyant growing market
  • Demonstrate our solutions to market – through strong sales process [ formal training provided ]
  • Lead the enable/relate stage of customer interactions, and be supported by PM & A Teams
  • Work in the fastest growing market sector in the Xylem Oceania Portfolio – with dedicated focus / leaders
  • Hold technical presentation style meetings in HQ Brisbane clientele [ training offered ]
  • Service key consultant networks in SEQ – who support the CQ market
  • Be able to pass D&A screenings – with mine site medicals a part of role
  • Be mentored by staff who know the geographical region – and have deep investment in the success of this role
