Software Engineer Colorado Design Team

Job Description

The Boeing Company is currently seeking an experienced Software Engineer for the Colorado Design Team located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Works across multiple programs and projects, leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.

Candidate should be able to develop in either Java or JavaScript, and have a working knowledge of the development process including debugging, test, and integration of software tools. In particular, the candidate should be familiar with tools such as Jenkins, Git, Gradle, Maven, Artifactory, ELK, Sonar, Jira, Prometheus, Fluentd, Helm, DataGrid, JBoss, Cloud Suite, Openshift, Docker and more.

Technology areas are focused on the following areas:

• Agile development and product line leadership
• Continuous integration, testing, and delivery
• Container design and implementation
• Data analytics and machine learning

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

• 5 years’ experience in each of the following in Linux, Windows, and Unix platforms
• Experience in scripting languages including Python, JavaScript, Perl, and Bash
• Experience in Object Oriented paradigms

Desired Qualifications:

• Satellite space domain ground control software experience
• BS Computer Science

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
