Web Design and Development Blog . The blog aims to support and strengthen our community of Shopify Partners, with in-depth technical tutorials, business how-tos, and the latest Shopify product news that makes sense of everything going on with the platform. Equally as important, our blog helps raise brand awareness and attract new talent to the program. We’re looking for someone to manage our editorial calendar, work with freelancers and internal authors, manage our SEO strategy, review and edit content, and focus on improving the blog’s overall performance. Instead we seek to craft exceptional articles that go above and beyond audience expectations, and provide in-depth expertise that partners can leverage as they grow into successful entrepreneurs.
Responsibilities:
- Manage content operations . Curate, create, and promote content that’s highly valuable, educational, and optimized for search. This includes scheduling content, working closely with internal and external authors (including paid freelancers), and identifying content opportunities. Must be comfortable with content reviews and understand how to put together a strong article. Tracking results and key metrics, as well as understanding how to apply them to future content strategies, is key.
- Grow our audience . Leverage SEO strategies and other growth tactics to optimize and increase traffic. Work closely with email automation and social to improve and further develop our post-publication strategies.
- Strengthen our search insights . Partner with SEO to develop an “always-on” keyword research strategy to incorporate into our editorial calendar, organized across various audience personas and partner-specific goals. You’ll ensure our team has a constant pool of top-of-funnel topic opportunities to draw from.
- Do more with our current traffic . Analyze existing traffic to find opportunities to improve session to lead conversion rates. You’ll also look to improve session to subscriber (newsletter) rates for our most popular pages.
Requirements:
- Experience in a content marketing role. You have a track record of producing and managing content that powers a fast-paced, search-driven editorial calendar. You also know how to track results and align your work to support a marketing funnel.
- Experience leveraging content marketing strategies and tactics in an effort to grow your online publication and increase audience engagement. You have an interest in or working knowledge of web design and/or app development.
- Proven first-class writing ability. You have a talent for distilling complex ideas into highly readable prose. Whether writing long-form guides or micro-copy, you fight to make every word count—even under a tight deadline.
- Experience working with subject matter experts to turn their insight into compelling customer-facing content.
- A knack for building streamlined processes for editorial and know how to efficiently manage a content calendar, expectations, and your own time.
- Proficiency with industry-standard and enterprise-level SEO software (Ahrefs, SEMRush, Clearscope, Screaming Frog, etc.) and analytics software (Google Analytics).
- An obsession with learning about your readers (our partners) and how Shopify’s products fulfill their needs, as well as a genuine interest in where entrepreneurship and commerce are headed.
