Data Scientist - ACO Operations 002 - Full-Time, Day - St. John Medical Center - Tulsa, OK Shift: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm This position will work in the Accountable Care Organization (ACO) for St John Health System which is called, Oklahoma Health Initiatives (OKHI). OKHI was the first Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) in Oklahoma when it started in 2014. ACOs are groups of doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers, who come together voluntarily to give coordinated high-quality care to their Medicare patients. The goal of coordinated care is to ensure that patients get the right care at the right time, while avoiding unnecessary duplication of services and preventing medical errors. When an ACO succeeds both in delivering high-quality care and spending health care dollars more wisely, the ACO will share in the savings it achieves for the Medicare program. The Data Scientist is responsible for the ACO data analytics for all ACO programs, producing summary reports, dashboard presentations, as well as analyzing and developing detailed reports for the populations served. Microsoft Access and Excel are both heavily used to aggregate, compile, summarize, concatenate, and extract the data required to summarize or provide detailed answers related to the Quality, Cost, and utilization of the ACO programs.

What You Will Do

As an Associate with St John Health System, you will have the opportunity to develop predictive and prescriptive analytics models, creating efficient algorithms, and innovating use of data.

Responsibilities:

• Integrates clinical and financial data from multiple sources and supports/performs complex statistical data analysis including multivariate statistical analysis, multilevel modeling, dyadic analysis and/or coarsened exact matching analysis.
• Analyzes complex business and competitive issues and discerns the implications for systems support. Identifies, defines, directs and preforms project issue analysis to resolve issues, including analysis of technical and economic feasibility of proposed data solution.
• Communicates highly technical information to numerous audiences, including senior management, the user community, and less experienced staff.
• Creates Dashboard reports and presentations from the clinical and financial information.
• Presents data to drive business decisions.
• Proposes and leads projects required to support the development of the organization's data infrastructure needs.
• Identifies financial and clinical trends, abnormalities, Quality improvement opportunities, and specific patient focus reports.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

• Required Credential(s):
  • None Required.

Education:

• Diploma
  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required
• Preferred
  • Bachelors in Finance or Health related field

Work Experience:

• 3 years of experience preferred. Healthcare or Epidemiology background a plus.
• Advanced skills with Excel - including VLookup, Concatenate, pivot tables, mapping, dashboard, etc.
• Advanced skills with Access - including Table and Query Design, Import Data Functions, limited Macro use, ODBC Connectivity, etc.
