Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Business Administration, Risk Management, Business Continuity Management, Security Studies, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in administrative support services, data management, program management, and/or management of products, programs, processes.
  • Experience with spreadsheet, presentation, and text editing software.
  • Experience in people management and/or team leadership.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Library Science, Business Administration, Risk Management, Business Continuity Management, Security Studies, or similar.
  • Experience with physical or information security concepts, data workflow systems, data management, or architecture and/or business operations certifications.
  • Experience in business management initiatives, data, and knowledge management, governance documentation, and/or performance monitoring.
  • Experience in data presentation and report writing. Track record of successful people management.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively when faced with unexpectedly changing goals, priorities, and mission parameters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

About the job

As Business Support Services Manager, you'll be and administrative and governance specialist with a passion for process organization, standardization, record keeping, and quality assurance in a fast paced setting. You will work closely with Google’s Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) teams and leads. Aside from helping to drive efficiency and consistency through defined operational protocols, GSRS’s management system sets both GSRS and other Google teams up for specific certifications and distinctions. Through these and other actions, we contribute to the sustainability of Google’s core business resilience and enable a collective ability to thrive in the face of adversity anywhere in the world.
In this role, you’ll work side by side with your global GSRS peers to provide information management support for a variety of needs and requirements. You will draw upon your excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to deliver successful, measurable project outcomes. Using your propensity towards collaboration, teamwork, and agility, you will help GSRS maintain documentation and operational workflows as well as achieve our collective strategic and annual objectives.

As Business Support Services Manager, you'll be quality driven, pay attention to detail, ensure thoughtful, timely tactical execution, and deep administrative management expertise in data management and systems workflow. You'll contribute a track record meeting compliance and other critical deadlines. Finally, you'll easily build positive internal and cross-functional partnerships and inspire trust from their team and colleagues, demonstrating excellent communication and presentation skills.

From keeping Googlers safe and secure to managing disruptive events, the ability to anticipate, deter, detect, and act are the pillars of Google’s Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team. As a member of GSRS you will help develop a culture where safety, security and resiliency are integrated into every facet of Google, including the creative process. You will help us continually identify, evaluate and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative strategies and develop programs that drive sustainable effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Advance unified administrative management system and help standardize processes and maintain consistency and quality in systems.
  • Guide and maintain information management and workflow systems to foster accurate record keeping and knowledge transfer through GSRS’s source collection system(s) as well as organize documentation for specific use.
  • Support security and resilience-related performance reporting, analytics, report writing, education, and training, as well as other administrative management team responsibilities.
  • Articulate concepts, processes, and services, communicate through written and verbal formats, socialize initiatives, and influence buy-in at all levels.
  • Partner with internal teams to collaboratively design and implement solutions to complex challenges.
