Core Responsibilities

User research

  • Obsess to keep the voice of the customer heard and accountable through all the proof-of-concept process
  • Demonstrable experience navigating discovery research aiming to focus on identifying needs and opportunities
  • Proven record on validation research acting as a way for us to check our understanding and proposed solution
  • Ability to help cross functional teams to identify pressing knowledge gaps/ research questions.
  • Capacity to pull right methods or create new ones to fill learning objectives of teams
  • Demonstrable expertise on identifying patterns and communicating research results in an actionable way

Design Thinker Leadership

  • Using Design Thinking methodology, in partnership with the Product Managers to define hero experiences of innovative products.
  • Interact with a complex set of stakeholders throughout the business, and dynamically lead the team to define and deliver solutions.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, making tradeoffs and balancing the business needs and user needs versus technical or operational constraints.
  • Work with team leads to develop the team’s strategy and long-term goals
  • Help team members and extended to keep them accountable and updated on approaches, so they can gain new skills

Agent of change

  • Act as a role model whose presence or thought process cause change towards a more customer -centric on handling situations
  • Perform as facilitator, instructor, leader, planner, or teacher purposeful educative to influence change in a practical or specific situation towards design thinking.
  • Mobilize presentations into experiments to bring evidence based on user inputs to drive strategic decisions
  • Help new product/ technology pioneers to decrease a US centric approach into a more global approach
  • Connect and crosspollinate non-obvious people, organizations, or initiatives across HP personal systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven record with user-centered design methodologies
  • High tolerance to ambiguity. Highly disciplined systems thinker, who combines creative and analytical skills to deliver potent innovation strategies.
  • Master storyteller that can engage stakeholders through powerful narratives to get them onboard and keep them engaged through the process.
  • Possess a more experimental mindset rather than methodological approach to challenges
  • Experience managing end-to-end design processes from opportunity identification, ideation, prototyping, testing and proof-of-concept
  • Critical and evidence based thinker and natural problem-solver
  • 3 years applying design thinking processes across multiple industries
  • Experience and business cases to prove the value of experimental approaches to move forward inside the fuzzy front end of new product development
  • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and hostile environment with scrappiness and limited resources
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven record working with cross functional or even multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a humble but bold tone
