Front-end Web Developer

Job Description

Mission

We are looking for a driven Front-end Web Developer to join our growing Marketing team at Databricks. The right candidate will help us with efficiency, scalability, and performance of all Databricks web properties.

This role will report to the Director Web Marketing and partner cross-functionally to deliver content, web functionality and infrastructural changes on all external facing Databricks websites.

You have extended front-end development experience and you know how to work using Agile methodologies, specifically Scrum. We want your passion and expertise to be a part of our company’s ongoing success.

Outcomes

• Deliver and maintain fully responsive content and advanced functionality across all Databricks web properties
• Keep our CMS current by developing and updating system templates and content types, themes and plug-ins
• Strategize the best implementation path for various web development needs aiming for scalability, user engagement and traffic increase
• Eliminate code errors by ensuring effective and efficient QA
• Serve along project managers in client communications to clarify on requirements, eliminate delays and create a more efficient way to work
• Consult with business partners in the design of Information Architecture, User Interface and Search Engine Optimization for all web properties, creating an outstanding User Experience on both desktop and mobile
• Create complex UI wireframe diagrams

Competencies

• 3+ years in a front end development role, include portfolio or samples of past work and projects
• Understanding of the entire web development process, with an emphasis on front-end design and development
• Solid grasp of HTML, CSS, JavaScript ( JavaScript libraries) , PHP, C, JQuery, React
• Experience with various content management systems (Drupal, WordPress is a plus) how to configure and administer
• Experience with MySQL databases: create, maintain and use
• Experience with multi-language sites is a plus
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users
• Ability to gather requirements effectively, document and confirm observations with business owners.
• Understand how to translate business processes into technical solution
• Demonstrated problem solving skills
• Degree in computer science is a plus
