ROLE

Data Analysts are responsible for providing analytical support for both internal and external clients. This person will work seamlessly across multiple clients or projects that help our clients improve their marketing performance.

As part of our strategy team, the Data Analyst is responsible for helping with our data driven strategic thinking and insight across multiple client engagements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Rigorous research + data guru
  • Able to outline, identify real problems, set desired outcomes and size opportunities
  • Takes anthropological approach to understanding human behaviour, environment and relationship for brands across verticals
  • Master at conducting research efficiently from secondary sources; desire to use and conduct primary to give it meaning
  • Develops and shares initial strategic point of view; able to rise above the dissertation and tell a story that is palatable and inspired
  • Takes an active interest in industry shifts and helps inform agency perspectives on a variety of topics
  • Demonstrate care for creativity and creative outcomes
  • Demonstrate true partnership within the agency

QUALIFICATIONS

Soft Skills

  • Communication – someone who can communicate the data in a way that is clear, concise and full of insights and actionable outputs
  • Passionate about cultural anthropology, trend watching, futurists, analytics, performance indicators and the “reason why” of results
  • Understands the difference between “foresight”, “insight” and “reporting the news"

  • A strong serving of humility, humanity and doubt

Hard Skills

  • Experience with the following tools or methodology:
    • Google Analytics (expert)
    • Excel (expert)
    • Coremetrics and Omniture (working knowledge)
    • Facebook insights and YouTube Analytics (expert)
    • Paid Search, Organic Search and affiliate programs (strong understanding)
    • Social listening platforms: Netbase, Radian 6 / Sysomos or equivalent
    • Multi-level attribution modeling
    • Split, A/B and multi-variate testing
    • Databases and BI technologies
    • KPI definition and ROI potential analysis
    • Offline and online media benchmarks
    • Dashboard visualization best practices
    • Principals, strengths and weakness of using Market research and surveys

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA or Master’s degree in quantitative studies. The equivalent combination of education, training and work experience may be suitable
  • 2-3 years of work experience in an advertising agency ideally
