Job Description

Samba TV is seeking a Chief of Staff (COS) who can autonomously execute and operate in a dynamic, fast paced environment. This will be a key role in shaping and executing our long-term business strategy. The COS is both a strategic and tactical, hands-on role directly reporting to our CEO, Ashwin Navin. You’ll be a consultant, operator, and trusted advisor on key initiatives for the company and will ensure essential information to the executive team and beyond is synthesized and streamlined effectively.

Business Process

Lead and coordinate the core business priorities for our CEO and Executive team. Coordinate with teams across to understand and align on business initiatives and partner with the leadership team. The Chief of Staff will bring the overall needs from roadmap and off-roadmap initiatives across the organization. The COS will establish a Rhythm of the Business for the leadership team, continually driving alignment and execution of the core business priorities.

Business Planning And Leadership

Chief of Staff will manage the planning process, ensuring coordination with corporate priorities, as well as planning group level priorities and alignment of resources. Set the team’s monthly and quarterly prioritization on activities, key events, and deadlines, then facilitate alignment of resources to meet those objectives. Work with cross-team and cross-company counterparts to manage team participation as needed for key business events, planning, business reviews, and other strategic business planning activities. Run out of organization workflows to ensure our team is plugging into, contributing, and facilitating cross-company activities. Serve as strategic advisor and counsel to the leadership team.

Communications

Plan and execute communication strategy for customer/partner engagements and speaking engagements to ensure successful and impactful use of the team’s time.

Drive Strategic Integrations

Drive strategic initiatives and provide thought leadership. Identify issues that impede success and provide solutions/recommendations. Identify opportunities to create cross group collaboration and synergies. Orchestrate team design conversation and facilitate successful implementation of organizational plans. Demonstrate discretion and professionalism when working with leadership team on sensitive business and organizational issues, manage ambiguity and propose workable solutions to challenging problems. Utilize external and internal networks to enhance the impact and value of Samba TV’s contributions to the broadest company goals.

Team Management

Work with the People Team to ensure time, resources, calendars, and budgets are contributing to the organization’s strategic goals. Partner with staffing teams to meet hiring requirements and elevate staffing conversations.

Special Projects

Drive high-impact cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and ensure the team is achieving commitments. Successful project management, including work with external stakeholders and teams, on strategic efforts that require hands-on experience across multiple functional disciplines and business organizations.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of proven management experience and results with experience across multiple disciplines
• Proven track record in project and business management
• Experience leading and executing projects in a complex organizational environment and work on several diverse projects at the same time
• Ability and emotional maturity to work in a productive and cooperative way with a variety of people ranging from VPs to C-Suite team members
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to influence
• Ability to maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments
• Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment, orchestrating strategic and complex business activity
