Preferred Qualifications

JOB DESCRIPTION – Senior Performance Engineer/Lead with at least 10+ years of experience working on performance assessment/tuning of enterprise software systems

Minimum Requirements

· Hands-on experience in building enterprise level performance test suites

· Working knowledge of at least one HTTP load generation software (e.g. LoadRunner, WebLoad, JMeter)

· Excellent ability to translate business requirements and NFR’s into performance test strategy, test scenarios and load profile

· Ability to design robust load/performance tests that can effectively lead to bottleneck identification in optimum time

· Experience in utilizing performance- monitoring and tuning software for interpreting performance results and identifying bottlenecks (eg., SiteScope, Keynote, JProbe etc.)

· Experience in working with load balancers and multiple web/app/db server technologies (Tomcat, Apache, WebLogic, SQL Server, Oracle etc.)

· Experience in working with browser profiling tools (eg., Fiddler, Firebug)

· Ability to analyze large amounts of performance data and summarize them into meaningful graphs and reports

· Experience in working with Java applications

· Experience in designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software performance issues for databases, middleware, applications, tools, networks etc

· Experience in performance automation is preferred

· Hands-on experience in Web Services, XML technologies (REST, SOAP, WSDL, XML)

· Excellent ability to liaise with multiple groups – architects, DBA’s, developers, ops etc. – to collaboratively troubleshoot performance issues, and resolve bottlenecks

· In-depth understanding of RDBMS concepts, and expertise in writing advanced SQL queries

· Must be a self-starter, and possess the drive to lead medium to complex performance engineering initiatives under minimum supervision

· Work with cross-functional team members from Architecture, product management, development, QA, consulting & Services, and other central teams to improve performance and scalability of multiple products

Nice-to-have

· Hands-on experience in working with micro services architecture, and in cloud environment

· Experience in at least one programming language (Java, C, Python etc.)

· Experience in performance tuning of Java applications, query optimization

· Experience/understanding of big data concepts

· Prior experience working in DevOps / Agile SDLC model

Educational Qualifications:

· Graduate degree (M.Tech./M.S./B.Tech./M.Sc./M.C.A.) with aggregate of 60% or above

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
