Business Summary:
The Colleague Experience & Technology team at VMware plays a vital role as we work on evolving the tools and services we offer to VMware employees globally with modern design, inspiring prototypes, and the newest technologies. You will succeed through creativity, collaboration, and prompt delivery. We’ll provide the real-world experience of conceptualizing, designing, and building new employee facing products from scratch or new features with existing services and tools. You’ll have the full support, guidance, and knowledge of our team as we aim to enable our colleagues to do their best work through delightful experiences.
Job Role:
As a UX Research Intern, you'll work on a variety of user experience projects striving to explore new approaches to user experience as a complex web of processes, design solutions and bright ideas. Responsibilities:
- Help the organization understand the challenges our colleagues face with the tools, processes and services they are provided with.
- Identify key research areas and questions and address them through a wide range of methods.
- Create research strategy and shape the development of an innovative and colleague-centered experience across platforms and channels.
- Help to shape the understanding of user research within VMware and evolve the research process to best suit internal needs.
- Collaborate closely with international team of interaction designers, developers and user researchers.
- Participate and contribute to testing and validation of products from rough concepts to high-fidelity prototypes.
Required Skills:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Design, Social Sciences (Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology), HCI or related field.
- Ability to think in perspective and creating analytical reports.
- Collaboration skills for working with a team and communicating with people in different working fields.
- Ability to create a variety of UX Deliverables, such as Journey Maps, Service Blueprints, Personas, etc.
- In-depth understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods including in-depth interviews, moderate focus groups, usability testing, surveys, ethnographic studies.
- Strong ability to translate research findings into relevant insights and present them through great storytelling.
Preferred Skills:
- A good level of reading and understating data, operating with Excel and PowerPoint – creating charts, analyzing data.
- Curious about new technologies
- Interested in learning how to collaborate across disciplines within a large organization.
- Present portfolio of research projects to show your design thinking and problem-solving skills, process and ability to communicate visually and verbally.
