Qualifications

The successful candidate has a passion for learning about the technology needs of our various teams, identifying gaps, and executing the best possible solutions. Experience should include large-scale IT project and program execution, as well as familiarity with marketing workflows.

The ideal candidate is someone who has prior experience delivering solutions as digital marketing software or marketing technology software such as Digital Asset Management, campaign management tools, social media management, etc. The specialist will interface with a variety of business partners, along with a tech team to ensure well-managed execution of processes and deliverables. They will also closely align with legal and data privacy teams to ensure that Pearson meets all corporate, international, and contractual standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees and supports current technology systems
  • Provides recommendations to geographic marketing leaders and business teams to help drive adoption and effective use of global technology systems
  • Contributes to the documentation of the marketing systems architecture \ the assessment of marketing systems and the development of a strategic technology roadmap
  • Develops plans to ensure data and process integration of systems that support key marketing and sales processes
  • Leads marketing infrastructure deployment and integration, including outlining technology roles and responsibilities
  • Ensures understanding of end-to-end marketing processes and supporting systems
  • Leverages marketing performance data to provide infrastructure consulting to senior leadership teams
  • Promotes the adoption and utilization of the organization’s global technology solutions
  • Prioritizes, sequences and manages implementation and enhancement projects according to budget, resource availability and timelines
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives to meet and align changing marketing and business priorities
  • Delivers effective change management and communications for technology implementation and process re-engineering within marketing technology
  • Contributes to process and data governance initiatives to ensure technology management complies with key governance and data privacy standards worldwide
  • Contributes to the forecasting and planning of the technology budget
  • Gathers and disseminates internal and external marketing technology best practices

Position Requirements

  • 5 years of marketing technology experience in a digital marketing role or equivalent
  • Deep understanding of enterprise marketing technology (e.g. CMS/CMP, DAM, PMS, MAP, CRM)
  • Successful track record of delivering enterprise technology solutions on time, on budget and with results
  • Experience assessing the current state of technology and building roadmaps to guide future acquisition, decommission or development
  • Experience in creating well-defined project and technical requirements, either individually or in partnership with users and/or marketing stakeholders, which can be easily understood by our engineering team
  • Experienced subject matter expert
  • Experience as company liaison between global technology and vendor
  • Strong experience developing and delivering end-user training
  • BAU and hand-on experience in system administration, monitoring and maintenance, including implementation of continuous improvement and change request processes
  • Drive reported issues to successful resolution; analytical problem solver who can clearly identify, analyze, and resolve issues as they arise
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience in bringing together cross-functional teams to deliver complex digital, technology, analytics products and technologies
  • Finds the right tone for engaging both technical and business partners and clearly articulates requirements, details and trade-offs between the two
  • Leverages critical thinking skills to improve end to end processes
  • Effective communication, facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Execution-focused and results-driven with a "can do" attitude and passion for maintaining well-managed, governed processes, yet also inquisitive and customer experience-oriented
  • Understanding of Scrum and/or Scaled Agile Framework process and best practices

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree

5 years of marketing technology experience in a digital marketing role or equivalent

3 years of experience in delivering solutions through the software development lifecycle in one or more of the following areas: Digital Marketing, Marketing Automation, CRM, Marketing Campaign Management, Content Mgmt/Digital Asset Mgmt or Project Management

2 years of experience in gathering project and/or technical requirements

Experience with Adobe Experience Manager, Workzone, Percolate, Brandmaker, Sprinklr or similar tools

Understands omni-channel customer journeys, with emphasis on digital

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Pardot, Sprinklr, GA360, GTM
