Your Career

Our global internship program trains the next generation of cybersecurity talent across a range of specializations, from threat intelligence to information security, engineering, and marketing. Interns and recent graduates can learn about the network security industry from leading thinkers, grow their professional networks, and be part of a career-defining experience.

As a Marketing Data Science Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with several teams of data scientists, data engineers, and various teams within marketing. This is an entry-level path into the Palo Alto Networks Marketing Data Science (MDS) organization which is the group responsible for all aspects of data that support marketing and the company overall.

Past projects have ranged from building a deep learning recommender system for the website to architecting data engineering pipelines to building dashboards for business insights.

Your Impact

• Drive business value by understanding, implementing, and owning data science projects from end to end
• Work on both the data science team and the data engineering team to drive projects to completion
• Learn state of the art techniques and evangelize them to the broader team.
• Develop stakeholder management skills for requirements gathering and presentation of results
• Provide training and collect feedback on the tools that you implement.
• Understand and explain the business value and impact of projects

Your Experience

• Experience with data science and data engineering concepts through work experience and/or classes
• Experience implementing data science and data engineering projects and explaining results to a non-technical audience
• Strong communication skills
• Willingness to learn and a proactive mindset
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment

Requirements – To apply, you must be pursuing a 4-year Undergraduate Degree with a GPA of 3.0 or above, a 2-year Master’s Degree or a Doctorate degree and returning to school in the fall. You must have the authorization to work within the United States. Please note that we will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

The Team

The Marketing Data Science (MDS) team is responsible for all aspects of Palo Alto Networks data. We use cutting-edge tools and techniques to constantly stay innovative while still providing business value with everything that we do. From state of the art model building to architecting robust data pipelines, to creative dashboarding, the MDS team provides useful, engaging, and relevant tools for the business.
