The Payments, Virtual Solutions, and Innovation (PVSI) team includes Operations, Consumer Credit Card, Retail Services, Consumer Deposits, the Innovation Group, Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Marketing and Wells Fargo Virtual Channels and the professional services teams that partner with these businesses. PVSI's focus is on delivering the next generation of payments and deposit capabilities and advancing our digital and online offerings to design new customer experiences and products. The Innovation Group, a part of PVSI, is dedicated to serving as the catalyst for transformational change across the company, focusing on fostering the growth of big ideas that will efficiently influence business models, processes, and programs in order to meet evolving customer needs. The team actively partners across the enterprise with business lines, data and analytics, operations, and marketing to provide resources, support, and visibility that will help transform business models, products, and services.

The Role

The Design & Delivery group, part of the broader Innovation Group at Wells Fargo, was formed in 2016 with the mandate to drive delivery of new initiatives and customer experiences. This team is dedicated to delivering upon innovation initiatives that are funded & post proof-of-concept. There are currently two delivery initiatives within this team – Greenhouse and Identity Management.

This is an opportunity to join a start-up within a large organization and be a part of bringing new initiatives, such as Greenhouse, to market. We are looking for a talented and driven individual to help build a best-in-class analytic team. The ideal candidate has a passion for working with data to support business objectives and uncover new opportunities for product enhancements.

The key responsibilities will include:

  • Extract and analyze data at customer, account, and transaction levels to provide insights to business leaders and product managers.
  • Develop and own recurring reporting. Perform data processing and automation tasks.
  • Contribute to data strategy development with product management to design and measure A/B tests to quantify the learnings and inform product design strategy.
  • Contribute to data gap exploration and solution implementation. Perform data integration, maintenance and processes enhancement, and automation tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling


Desired Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills


Other Desired Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience with SAS or SQL, SAS/STAT and/or other data management, analysis reporting and query tools
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
  • Experience in data visualization techniques using large data sets sourced from various data warehouses, marts, and desktop sources (e.g. spreadsheets) and flat files.
  • Experience in ETL/process automation using tools like Unix Shell scripts or Teradata SQL
  • Experience with designing A/B tests for product performance and customer engagement
  • Experience working with digital financial products
  • Experience in Agile
  • Strategic minded in building current processes and optimizing future enhancements
  • Ability to synthesize data to form a story and align information to contrast or compare to industry perspective and historical business trends
  • Deep passion for leveraging data to create exceptional customer experiences and drive product development
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills; must be comfortable communicating up and down and within the organization including demonstrated ability to clearly articulate ideas through verbal and written communication including the ability to translate complex analyses and insights into relevant business discussions with diverse groups
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility to build and maintain effective working relationships
  • Meticulous about data integrity, and approaches quality control methodically.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership and accountability on assigned tasks driving execution through completion.

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
