Following the award of several new contracts within Maritime Mission Systems, an experienced and project delivery focused Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Manager is required to deliver contractual obligations and business winning proposals for the ILS and Technical Documentation allocation of work. The ILS Manager will work within the Customer Support and Services Business Unit and provide ILS, Through Life Support, Supportability Engineering services and professional advice to teams in accordance with relevant specifications, standards and business processes.
As an ILS Manager your focus is on time delivery of large, pivotal Underwater Submarine Solutions projects, to customer requirements and within budget. A key part of your role will be managing the project delivery team of around 8 people both permanent staff and subcontractors. Although largely based in Cheadle, there may be some travel required within the UK and occasionally overseas.
Key Duties:
- Provide functional Leadership and management to your team, managing performance, developing their skills and rewarding recognition.
- Review demand from bids and projects and Input into integrated Business Planning (IBP)
- Produce and Deliver ILS products in accordance with an agreed schedule and ILS Management Plan
- Produce and Deliver projects using the guidelines of Thales processes (CHORUS II) and contracted ILS standards
- Utilise project management and planning tools and methods to deliver on time, to budget and quality.
- Manage the ILS requirements and demonstrate compliance against them
- Responsible as the Work Package Manager for the ILS scope of work and be accountable for the delivery
- Chair ILS progress meeting and ILS Working Groups
- Contribute to ILS bid management by producing estimates for the ILS content
- Write the Integrated Support Plan and associated documents required to support campaigns
- Ensure a culture of best practice sharing and knowledge exploitation within own area.
- Proactively seek out and share best practice to ensure continuous improvement and consistency
- Contribute to the overall Supportability Engineering Transformation Plan
Skills and experience required:
- Experience working as a Technical ILS Manager on large platform delivery focused projects
- Worked in a similar industry or in the forces (RAF, Navy or Army)
- Experience managing a team
- An Understanding of ILS relevant defence standards
- Technical background in Maintenance and Support Engineering
- Eligible to obtain SC level security clearance
