Responsible for designs and documentation of test equipment solutions for the Boeing Guidance and Repair Center at Heath, Ohio. Engineer will be working with test equipment related to gyroscope repairs in the ICBM, Aircraft, and Navy programs as well as support equipment for production of parts for other military applications.

Position Responsibilities:

• Researches and builds knowledge of Boeing and engineering design principles in order to develop solutions to product/process issues for production or simple technical in-service issues.
• Assists with analyses, root cause analysis and drafting dispositions for design non-conformances.
• Assists system owner in preparation of technical communications.
• Identifies analyses fleet data, collects and evaluates data on customer findings for product/process improvement opportunities that may include recurrent product support issues.
• Supports activities to identify deviations that could impact design intent and safety.
• Participates in Material Review Boards and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
• Assists with the design of interim structural repairs to restore damaged structure to original design strength capability
• Applies knowledge of Boeing design principles to assess and resolve product/process issues through the product lifecycle.
• Analyzes, conducts root cause analysis and develops dispositions for design non-conformances.
• Participates in Integrated Product Teams (IPT).
• Ensures supplier and build partner compliance with Boeing standards.
• Analyzes damage repair or structural modification to assure a safe work environment.
• Designs interim structural repairs and conducts static strength analysis.
• Develops non-destructive test procedures, tools and standards. Conducts simple static strength analysis
• Validates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problems.
  Implements lean principles and technologies.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree required from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry is required.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering discipline desired.
• Knowledge with electrical/mechanical manufacturing process and assembly sequencing
• Knowledge in CAD/CAM software application.
• ABET accreditation degree preferred.
• Experience with design engineering processes and effects to manufacturing
• Knowledge in Computer Added Manufacturing Processes

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation
