NIKE BY YOU Manufacturing Operations Manager

Job Description

We are looking to add a Manufacturing Operations Manager to our NIKE BY YOU Operations team. This person will help provide a premium experience to NBY consumers through the effective management and execution of the global supply planning processes. The person in this role will lead the generation and delivery of thorough, accurate, & timely production plans through collaboration with regions, factories, & product creation teams which drive manufacturing capacity, finance, logistics, & material plans. She/He will also be responsible for evolving relevant processes, systems and tools to respond to changes in the business environment - to maintain NIKE’S competitive advantage through resource utilization, product innovation, operational efficiencies, & delivery precision. This is a role with a high level of supply chain ownership across an end-to-end business environment, and would be an ideal place for a self-starter individual who shows strong bias for action.

Core Accountabilities:

Supply & Capacity Planning:

Act as primary connector between factory & WHQ to insure all levels of Capacity & Supply Planning expectations can be met. Work with Demand Planning Director to insure best possible production plan is sent to factories. Support review with factory & Asia manufacturing teams to identify changes & priorities within the plans, own and drive capacity flex up decisions with all stakeholders.

Materials Management:

Establish material buying strategies & tracking tools that align with NIKE BY YOU product strategy. Establish & execute strategic inventory planning directions: define initial material buy positions, check and validate plans via scenario planning, closely track demand and trigger replenishment buys when required. Develop and implement proactive material management and inventory forecasting methodology to (a) minimize shortage / stock-out situations, and to (b) minimize excess material liabilities.

Manufacturing Readiness:

Partner closely with cross functional NIKE BY YOU teams (Operations, Product, Merchandising, Demand Planning) to optimize product readiness, launch, ramp up and manufacturing support plans. Ensure demand, capacity, equipment & materials align to support NIKE BY YOU long-term and seasonal business. Ensure factory & product issues can be resolved in a timely & successful fashion.

Consumer focus:

Enable <15 day average delivery to consumers through effective supply/capacity planning & material management. Demonstrate consumer first behaviors by consistently applying product, manufacturing, planning, & process knowledge to help insure NIKE BY YOU can consistently provide the optimal consumer experience AND deliver on speed to consumer targets.

• 5+ years demonstrated progressive experience in Supply Planning, Inventory Management, Sourcing or Manufacturing; experience in Footwear, Apparel or Equipment a plus
• Strong track record managing external supplier relationships and adept at driving alignment with Internal stakeholders
• High bias for action, and desire to be a change agent within the organization and with external partners
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey complex information in a way that is simple and easily understood by a diverse group of stakeholders
• Output-driven, consumer-centric mindset with a record of accomplishment that shows you can deliver short-term wins on the journey to long-term change
• Willingness to listen, learn and reflect, coupled with an ability to create, challenge, and evolve quickly will be critical success factors within the NIKE matrix
• Thrives with ambiguity; proven track record of risk identification, mitigation and management.
• MBA or Master's degree in related field preferred
