Job Description
As the BRS Program Manager in Nike Design, you’ll be responsible for driving our training and education initiatives for Nike Design. You will be focused on supporting our design community with innovative educational programming and experiences. In this role you will work across design and corporate partners to select and onboard new designers who will reside in product categories to create Apparel and Footwear collections. The Program Manager is responsible for the concepting, development, planning, management and execution of the educational programing and events at Blue Ribbon Studio (BRS). These take the form of classes, workshops, events, speakers and pop ups.
Key accountabilities include:
- Manage all aspects of the educational programs at Blue Ribbon Studio School, including training materials, curriculum, budgets, communication, and teaching aids. These programs could include, craft-based programs, safety and technical orientations, inspirational programs, Nike ideology and methodology, specialized training in Footwear/Apparel, and designer development programs.
- Concept and create seasonal workshops around craft and inspiration to support creative initiatives.
- Work alongside Studio Director to develop annual educational strategy for designer development. Drive the annual review of educational offerings.
- Manage internal and external program staff, as well as interview and recruit new staff, train newly hired candidates and allocate their workloads and assignments. Approve the school curriculum and manage and evaluate the development of new courses.
- Work alongside Diversity & Inclusion and Talent Acquisition teams to develop programs and drive successful implementation each year. Facilitate planning and implementation including needs assessments, strategic planning, and progress monitoring.
Qualifications• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Art, Design, Craft or Education.
• 8+ years of relevant program and project management experience for complex, multi-stakeholder, director-level and above initiatives.
• 5+ years in education leadership, program development, diversity and inclusion, or related experience.
• Experience across functional and technical areas of art, design, and craft.
• 5 years of combined experience leading teams directly and indirectly.
• Experience creating public programs through customer feedback.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills used to communicate complex ideas simply to a diverse audience, attain buy-in and program funding, and drive decisions.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with smart, motivated people who are passionate about education.
Preferred qualifications:
• Direct experience in a field of Design and Craft.
• Experience with creating educational programs/products.
• Experience scaling programs globally.
