Job summary

The Red Hat North America Public Sector (NAPS) Operations team is looking for a Sales Operations Analyst to join us in McLean, VA. In this role, you will support the Public Sector Sales team through quote generation, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of processes resulting in increased sales productivity. You’ll communicate with management to compile detailed reports, channel sales metrics, and channel buying program management. As a Sales Operations Analyst, you will also support Red Hat’s procedures related to direct and channel operations activities and deliver key messages to the Sales team in relation to Operations processes.

Primary job responsibilities

• Provide support to NAPS Sales team through the administration of sales quotes, proposals and reports, general process administration, and carrying out various sales operations functions
• Provide guidance to the sales team on complex deal and opportunity structuring
• Serve as a point of contact between internal teams and the Sales team to facilitate order processing, customer and partner issue resolution, reporting, and general operational inquiries
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with a multitude of stakeholders with varying backgrounds and skills
• Use Salesforce.com (SFDC) to respond to inquiries from sales team and manage accounts, quotes, customers, or processes
• Compile, analyze, report, and interpret data to support key sales data metrics
• Engage in data cleansing activities to ensure that sales data is consistent and accurate for management reporting
• Engage partners to resolve order fulfillment issues and concerns
• Manage and organize folders, reports, training documentation, and dashboards through SFDC and Google Drive
• Analyze, propose, and improve existing business processes; integrate various business process improvement techniques (e.g., change management and customer validation)

Required skills

• Bachelor's degree
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• 2-3 years of sales, sales support, or deal structuring experience with a proven record of success; experience working in sales, business consulting, or marketing within the federal, state, local, or education market is a plus
• Detail-oriented and passionate about delivering results; ability to work as part of a team
• Willingness to work longer hours during periods of high demand like quarter and year ends
• Background using office applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Basic understanding of customer relationship management (CRM) tools like SFDC is a plus
• Solid customer service and interpersonal skills in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment are a plus
