Business Strategy Planning Director, GBD Finance - Indianapolis, IN PS23424 Work Location: Indianapolis, IN The Business Strategy Planning Director is responsible for providing support to the Government Business Division’s Chief Finance Officer and Finance Executive Team. Responsible for consolidating monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, preparing financial materials for quarterly earnings release, coordinating and monitoring execution of the GBD Finance strategy and GBD financial initiatives. Must work collaboratively across the enterprise. Primary duties to include but are not limited to: • Understands all aspects of the business and partners with executive leadership to define strategy and successful criteria for the future. • Translates GBD Finance strategy into defined tactics programs/projects priorities and timelines and ensures alignment and attainment of enterprises strategic plans to turn strategy into reality. • Builds and leverages relationships to provide innovative solutions to complex business problems. • Proposes opportunities to improve results based on continuous needs assessment. • Responsible for the development implementation and monitoring of line of business planning and project activities. Responsibilities specific to this role include: • Consolidates all financial statements for Government Business Division including reporting and explanation for variances. Provides CFO with summarized and detailed explanations of variances. • Develops and maintains key financial initiative performance reports and scorecards. Leads key initiatives as assigned by the CFO. • Ensures CFO is prepared for all meetings with debriefs, update and talking points. • Handles all communications on behalf of GBD Finance including employee, announcements and performance updates. • Works closely with business leaders to ensure financial goals are aligned with business strategy and results. • Develops, implements and maintains performance scorecards for GBD Finance. Leads the workflow process to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables • Represents CFO in meetings as directed. • Strong command of financial statements, consolidations, variance explanations, risks and opportunities, and gap closure initiatives. • Translates complex, technical information into presentation-friendly formats to include graphical displays to a wide variety of internal and external executive audiences. • Leads team in annual planning process. • Participates on Mergers and Acquisitions as directed. Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field, preferably in accounting, finance or actuarial science; 10 years of leadership/management experience in healthcare financial and business analysis with experience in project management including a 3-5 year strategic plan with corresponding tactical plans; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. • Master's degree preferred. • Ability to travel may be required.
