This role resides within Core Compliance team in Japan CIB Compliance and will play a key role in centrally managing the local regulatory compliance processes including regulatory changes, interactions with the regulators, managing the local policies and procedures across all Compliance teams as well as coordinating regulatory initiatives with the regional and global counterparts.

Key Responsibilities:


• Regulatory change management – Ensure the regulatory changes are appropriately adopted to location in a timely manner by identifying global/local regulatory changes and coordinating the implementation of those changes with the owners including policy changes, org changes and training.
• Policy management – Manage the relevant Compliance policies to be updated on a timely basis by coordinating and providing oversight over the process across the teams.
• Regulatory engagement – Managing regulatory inquiries and requests (e.g., meetings and information requests) with the relevant Compliance teams.
• Regulatory commitment management – Ensure compliance with regulatory commitments and reviewed as deemed necessary.
• Regulatory trend and lessons learnt analysis – Analyze and conduct lessons learned from internal and external incidents, cases, sanctions for Senior Management, Compliance Department and relevant stakeholders.
• Quality assurance – Ensure the quality of submissions to the regulators by performing quality assurance reviews.
• Regulatory related projects and initiatives – Drive and execute ad-hoc regulatory-related projects.

Key Qualifications:


• Fluent level written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English
• Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills
• Strong Excel, Word and Power Point skills
• Experience researching and interpreting laws and regulations
• Experience with regulatory inspections and interactions
• Excellent presentation and documentation skills
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong control mindset and a sense of urgency
• Technology knowledge skills preferable
