Position Summary
The lead Corporate MNC and Treasury Services Sales role is critical in developing and executing the Global Corporate Bank (GCB)/Treasury Services (TS) sales strategy for the inbound-MNC segment in Japan. This is a critical role with people management and financial accountability. The incumbent will be accountable for driving GCB/TS financial goals from existing and prospective clients, working closely with product partners, as well as Global, Regional and Local MNC teams based outside of Japan.
The position is based in Tokyo and will report in to the MNC Head for Asia Pacific regionally and the Head of GCB locally.
Key Accountabilities/Major Responsibilities:
• Own and deliver against MNC and TS Corporate Cash Management financial targets for Japan
• Assist the TS/GCB Country Head to drive the local product agenda based on client requirements and local sector strategies
• Build and maintain relationship with APAC Head of MNCs and Regional Sales Head ensuring global and regional sales and client account plans are locally executed
• Ensure core disciplines around pipeline management, including proactive management of conversion cycles and revenue ramp up, conducting weekly sales meetings, local deal reviews, pipeline analysis and reporting
• Build and maintain relationships with key partners in other lines of business including Corporate Bank, Commercial Bank and Investment Bank (IB) to generate leads and maximise cross-sell of TS products and bundled solutions
• Manage the MNC team effectively to insure individual portfolio and sales targets are achieved or exceeded
• The MNC lead will also directly manage and drive a portfolio of senior client relationships in addition to oversight & managerial responsibilities
• Conduct regular cross functional reviews with peers in Client Service and Operations (locally and regionally) to ensure coordinated management of client relationships
• Promote cross sell and lead the team to grow the MNC franchise in line with targets
• Promote the TS business in the broader marketplace including press interviews and managing client events such as coordination of regular Economic Forums in Japan
• Ensure a strong Risk & Control framework is maintained with an ongoing focus on adherence to KYC, AML, GFCC, PAD, PEP and Reputation Risk standards, to name a few
• Participate in regular GCB/TS management meeting and talent reviews
• Promote the needs of Japan MNC clients with local and regional product partners
General Knowledge and Experience Required:
• Previous experience managing a MNC/sales team in a complex matrix organisation (Critical)
• Detailed knowledge of cash management services and products including collections, payments, account structures, and liquidity management (Critical)
• Strong working knowledge of JPM product, credit standards and related documentation requirements (Critical)
• Minimum 10 years experience in business development and/or relationship management
• Strong client contacts especially with multinational companies operating in Japan (Preferable)
