Job summary

The Red Hat Product Security team is looking for a DevOps Software Engineer to join our DevOps team in Brno, Czech Republic. The Red Hat Product Security team is leading the industry by focusing on automating functions of the vulnerability response process, including smarter vulnerability discovery, orchestration of vulnerability remediation process, proactive customer notifications, and more. In this role, you will closely partner with security professionals in our team and other DevOps engineers across the company to streamline the existing processes and research new solutions and technologies to help us protect communities of customers, contributors, and partners from digital security threats and provide quality information needed to mitigate risk and privacy concerns. As a DevOps Software Engineer, you should value trust, transparency, and collaboration. You should be a motivated, full stack engineer who believes that open source principles are the best way to achieve our vision.

Primary job responsibilities

• Participate in the development of tools and services that support our vulnerability response pipeline
• Take a holistic view of our pipeline; identify, design, and automate to remove friction
• Work across project and technology boundaries to promote integrated solutions based on open source offerings
• Write high-quality code with regards to maintainability, security, and reliability

Required skills

• Passion for coding and willingness to learn new technologies
• Knowledge of the Linux operating system on the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) level
• Software development experience with Python, JavaScript, or Ruby
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Solid written and verbal communication skills in English

The following are considered a plus:

• Experience with continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD), container technology, and Red Hat OpenShift
• Involvement in upstream communities
• Prior experience with full stack web development and single page applications (SPAs)
• Understanding of secure development
