SENIOR MANAGER, EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION
The Senior Manager of Executive Compensation plays a critical role in the design and implementation of executive compensation and equity programs. This role will have executive compensation consultant direct reports and will partner closely with senior leadership, the board of directors, Finance, Legal, business compensation managers, data providers and other groups to understand market practices, trends, challenges, regulatory changes and HRC requests. The senior manager of executive compensation has the ability to simplify the complex, anticipate future consequences of changes, create and manage multiple complex project plans simultaneously, develop and present strategic recommendations to senior leadership, and lead people, activities and process to implement new design initiatives. Is considered a senior subject matter expert and people developer.
Responsibilities:
- Manages a team of professional level executive compensation consultants
- Works closely with the team to define responsibilities and set expectations; motivates, coaches, and fosters creativity within team.
- Participates in the design and implementation of the Executive Leadership team (ELT) compensation structure (base salary, STI and LTI programs
- Participates in the design and implementation of board of directors (BOD) compensation structure
- Manages, in partnership with Business Compensation Managers (BCMs), the assessment of executive cases
• Design of competitive executive offers and retention proposals.
• Assessment of leveling cases
• Implementation of Mutual Separation Agreement (MSA) cases - Manages the MSA process
- Manages the assessment of equity budget. Assess competitiveness of equity programs and determine required investment.
- Manages the design and implementation of equity programs, including annual grants, retention initiatives and off-cycle programs
- Manages the design and implementation of Executive compensation and Equity Annual Review Cycle activities. Ensures clear tracking of programs
- Leads/participates in the design of proxy materials (CD&A and Tables).
- Identifies areas for improvement to total rewards strategies and contributes to development of total rewards strategy.
- Manages the executive benchmarking process for all Executives (below ELT level) across HP
- Participates in the design and delivery of communication materials for ELT and BOD.
- Participates the design and development of HRC materials. Ensures topics and approvals are covered based on HRC checklist and calendar.
- Participates in the design and development of shareholder engagement materials.
- Participates in the design and implementation of Executives (below ELT level) compensation structure (base salary, STI and LTI programs)
Education and Experience Required:
- First-level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.
- Typically 10+ years related experience in compensation, benefits, finance, and/or human resources.
- Prior management experience preferred
