Data Analyst

SAP Fieldglass is hiring a Data Analyst to provide back end/technical support for all users of the SAP Fieldglass application. In this role, you will analyze, troubleshoot and resolve data errors within the application. You will also be responsible for building out new methodologies to reduce the number of issues that make it into our production application. This is an on-site position in our Naperville or Chicago office.

What You Will Do

  • Become an expert in all facets of the SAP Fieldglass’ proprietary services procurement application
  • Write, debug and upgrade queries, stored procedures and functions within SQL Server and HANA
  • Collect and analyze data to provide solutions for projects, day to day issues and other related responsibilities
  • Research application errors in the database and find root causes by reproducing steps which led to the bug
  • Communicate findings to our Professional Services team to provide a comprehensive understanding of the issues within the application
  • Provide exceptional support to internal teams in regard to any critical system issues that have been identified within the application
  • Serve as a liaison between the Development team, QA team, DBA’s and Professional Services and Product Management
  • Document results of analysis and obtain internal team’s sign-off on solutions and processes
  • Participate in special projects and teams when required
  • Help create new and enhance existing internal team processes, such as logging and organizing data

What You Need to Bring

  • BA/BS in Business, MIS, Computer Science or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role
  • Advanced working knowledge of SQL, preferably T-SQL, including demonstrated troubleshooting skills and experience
  • High proficiency in SQL scripting, queries, ad hoc reports
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
  • Analytical skills and have the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills (both oral & written) and the ability to work closely with business and technical teams of all levels
