Nielsen Digital Voice is a global leader in Internet media and market research. We are part of The Nielsen Company and provide the industry's global standard for Internet and digital media measurement and analysis, offering technology-driven Internet information solutions for media, advertising, e-commerce and financial companies. The Nielsen Company’s Core Digital Panel Processing Platform is moving to the Cloud (AWS). As the Core Digital team moves to a more CI/CD model, the Sr. DevOps Engineer will be key to designing and implementing environments which automate and optimize processes.

The Core Digital team is looking for highly motivated and talented AWS Cloud focused Sr. DevOps Engineers with the following requirements:

  • Hands on technology professional comfortable working in an Agile, DevOps environment
  • Work with the development team to support a culture of DevOps, Cloud and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment
  • Ability to develop custom monitoring and integrated monitoring methods in deployment processes to develop self-healing system
  • Work with the development teams to develop the foundations for AWS Cloud based solutions for our systems
  • Design, develop, and implement automation tooling that enables the team to deliver best-in-class services to internal and external users
  • Facilitate along with development teams to determine requirements around automation tools, configuration management, and deployment methodologies
  • Analyze current systems and provide insight into how they may be further optimized
  • Identify and correct deficiencies in existing automation tools
  • Bring energy and passion to your work day in and day out

Necessary Skills:

  • 5+ years’ experience building and supporting large-scale, business critical systems (building, testing, releasing)
  • Experience in developing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines(CI/CD)
  • Proficient with Git and Git workflows and scripting to automate systems
  • Experience on configuration management and deployment tools (Terraform, Cloud Formation)
  • Experience working on Bitbucket, Jenkins, Docker and Test automation tools
  • Experience in development of Java and Python Applications
  • Experience in Database Redshift, Postgres, SQL
  • Experience in AWS cost optimization and process optimization
  • Experience in designing and development of automated deployment and scaling processes
  • Knowledge of Application Performance Monitoring tools or related open source tools
  • Design & develop hybrid cloud expansions and upgrades with Infrastructure partners and AWS Cloud
  • Respond to outages, configure hosts and tune performance
  • Ensure consistent and accurate monitoring tools are in place and providing the necessary feedback in the time required
  • Coordinate with Infrastructure partners on test data backup and recovery tools
  • AWS Cloud Skills : Cloud Formation Templates, DevOps tools, Ansible (or similar like Puppet, Chef), AWS Lambda (Python, Java, Node.js), EC2, IAM, Roles, Policies, S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, Networking (VPC, NACL, Subnet), RDS, EMR, ECS
  • Big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka or database skills a plus
  • Experience on AWS Serverless Architectures & Development/Operations a plus
  • Working Experience on open source tools like Talend, Airflow would be plus
