Job summary

The Red Hat Customer Experience and Engagement (CEE) is looking for a Junior System Administrator to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will work with the Products and Technologies (PnT), Developer Operations, and System Operations teams. You’ll partner with tool development and quality engineering teams to deliver infrastructure and services consumed by processes that create Red Hat's excellent open source software. Your mission each day will be to make these systems work and become more efficient at each available opportunity. As a Junior System Administrator, you will work specifically with cloud technologies to configure the infrastructure to handle existing software as well as software in development.

Primary job responsibilities

• Build and manage infrastructure environments based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), including Red Hat Virtualization and Red Hat OpenStack Platform, and middleware offerings like Red Hat Middleware and Red Hat OpenShift
• Demonstrate your passion for troubleshooting, open source technology, and methodologies
• Assist application teams with performance improvement and automation activities to enhance productivity
• Collaborate with members of the System Operations team globally to provide escalated support in critical situations

Required skills

• Solid written and verbal language skills in English
• Scripting skills using a configuration management or orchestration system like Red Hat Ansible Automation, Puppet, or Salt
• Experience managing applications and systems written in Perl, Python, Ruby, and Java
• Some experience with the deployment, monitoring, and management of virtualized systems at scale

The following are considered a plus:

• Experience with SAN management and configuration
• Experience with network device management and configuration
• Professional Linux certifications
• Understanding of agile development practices
