Our Pivotal Labs team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our London team. We work in multi-disciplinary teams, immersively working with our clients enabling them to rapidly
build high value products.

We work as full-stack engineers building cloud native software, using technologies such as Cloud Foundry, Spring, Java, Kotlin, Android, iOS, React, and more.
As a Senior Software Engineer you will be responsible for:
* Developing, creating and modifying applications utilizing agile processes, including test-driven development (TDD), pair-programming, refactoring, and state-of-the-art continuous integration, build and deployment infrastructure
* Contributing to the continued evolution of our Software Development Processes through pair programming
Delivering agreed software development tasks from the relevant product roadmaps
*Researching problems and break them into deliverable parts
* Identifying codebase and architecture refactoring necessary to drive continual improvement in the application
* Meeting project commitments by providing accurate estimates of all assigned project work and quickly informing PM of any adjustments to delivery times
* Developing an awareness and knowledge of industry best practices in software design, construction and delivery so these can be discussed / shared with the team and used to drive SDLC evolution
* Defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development methods and infrastructure
* Applying principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean, User Centered Design and Agile
* Working with companies of all scales to coach them on innovation delivery
* Analyzing user needs and software requirements in collaboration with clients, to determine design details and feasibility within time and cost constraints
* Participating in hands-on coding and mentoring of client developers
* Assisting client teams in adoption of agile methodology and/or object-oriented design and programming
* Working side-by-side with client engineers, participating with clients in Inception meetings
* Working in balanced teams consisting of Product Managers, Product Designers, and engineers
Required Skills / Experience:
* A background in software engineering; or a degree in Computer Science or other related field
* Used Test Driven Development (TDD) extensively
* Working knowledge of Lean, User Centered Design and Agile methodologies
* Ability to work in a pair programming environment
* Strong knowledge of one or more Object Oriented Programing or Functional Programming languages
* A history of developing successful, large-scale, public web software
* Experience in web front-end development a plus
* Experience deploying to cloud environments a plus
* Experience in Android or iOS development is a plus
* Strong communication skills
