Job Description

In this role, you will have the opportunity to

quickly become an integral part of the Philips in-house executive search group by taking ownership for the delivery of exceptional and diverse talent in support of the Executive Search Services team (ESS). Both teams are integral in identifying, qualifying and assessing executive talent for our most senior executive positions. The ESS team drives the execution of active and critical executive search projects across all Philips businesses, markets, and functions. The executive recruiter is responsible for identifying, engaging, assessing and presenting executive level talent for specific executive level search assignments and roles in Philips.

You are responsible for (but not limited to)

  • Providing credible participation in the kick off meetings with the hiring team for active searches by: establishing credibility through expertise, asking valid and insightful questions to clarify hiring needs, providing market intelligence, explaining recruiting process along with Executive Recruiting Consultant, and supporting compliance and diversity and messages.
  • Developing an effective and compelling presentation of the role (in conjunction with the consultants) to be shared with the market and prospective candidates.
  • Driving the creation (together with ESS consultant) and implementation of the search strategy for each potential search.
  • Executing on the search strategies, i.e.: phone generation (cold-calling) of candidates, networking within niche and function, identifying applicable associations, professional groups and affiliations, websites, Boolean searches, targeting competing companies, etc.
  • Engaging and assessing the executive talent by developing robust screening questions that will narrow the candidate pool and hone in on the qualified, interested and best candidates for the role. You will assess candidates for cultural, experiential and financial fit, utilizing a behavior based interview approach based on the core competencies identified with client.
  • Consistently executing on all aspects of engaging, assessing and presenting candidates to consultant and hiring teams.
  • Managing all candidates through the process, providing a high level of candidate care.
  • Managing all related administrative duties related to the search process including status reports, candidate assessments, feedback/scorecard collection, etc.
  • Assisting with the interview scheduling process when necessary.
  • Participating in customer facing meetings representing the executive recruitment team, and the recruiting function in a professional and compelling way.

You are a part of

a well-respected and high performing global executive search team that today handles close to 90% of all global executive hires within Philips. With presence in the US, Asia and Europe, it is a team with a truly global scope with several years of internal and external executive search experience. The team is mirrored after an external search firm structure and is seen as an integral partner and advisor to the Philips Executive Committee and various business, market, and functional leadership teams.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • 5+ years of recruiting experience recruiting executive level talent.
  • Search agency experience required; retained executive search highly preferred.
  • Direct experience having worked on searches in the medical device, and/or consumer industries.
  • Highly developed passive recruiting skills, i.e.: prospect identification, cold calling, referral generation, competitive intelligence gathering, and organization breakouts.
  • Proven experience utilizing complex internet searches, social and professional networking groups, blogs, diversity resources, competitor research and the development of existing candidate relationships to build pipelines of executive level talent.
  • Proven track record in delivering a high quality pipeline of candidates under very tight timelines.
  • Strong project management skills; capable of developing and executing upon thoughtful project/recruiting strategies and then methodically working those projects to a successful completion.
  • Ability to establish rapport quickly, engage challenging executives and develop trusting relationships.
  • Experienced in assessment of talent with behavioral based interviewing and assessment techniques.
  • Competence working both individually and as a team member. Candidate should demonstrate the ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, make quick decisions and work with highly confidential information.
  • High proficiency with CRM software or executive search database tools.
  • Experience with social media and other tools for recruiting (especially LinkedIn, Hoovers, etc.) .
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, whereby fluency in English is a must.
  • BA/BS degree required
