Job Number: 820968 Date posted: 08/23/2019 Description: This role provides clinical expertise in Behavioral Health Therapy (BHT)/Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) for members with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or Developmental Delay (DD). Provides utilization management of their cares and is responsible for the coordinator of external vendor services and in plan care. This position does not provide direct patient care. Essential Responsibilities:
  • Review clinical progress notes prepared by external clinical vendors and sets goals in conjunction with the external vendors based upon appropriate professional experience and licensure, for the ASD and DD populations.
  • Make clinical determination regarding appropriateness of therapeutic goals and need for ongoing therapeutic intervention by external vendors, for the ASD and DD populations
  • Serve as a resource and liaison between the external vendors, who are providing direct patient care for the member, and KP once initial services have been authorized at the local level for the ASD and DD populations.
  • Serve as a resource and liaison for the medical center departments they are supporting, for the ASD and DD populations.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of the appropriate data bases necessary to monitor and track the externally vendored services for the ASD and DD populations
  • Document as necessary in the medical record/Health Connect for the ASD and DD populations
  • Regional coordination of the Developmental Case Managers in the dissemination of updates and facilitating exchange of information etc, for the ASD and DD populations
  • Communicate and maintain professional relationships with other integrated departments within KP.
  • Maintain timely contact with the ASD teams in the local areas.
  • Basic Qualifications: Experience
  • Minimum six (6) years working as a fully licensed MFT, LCSW, Psychologist or RN, with a minimum three (3) years working with Autism and Developmental Disability populations
  • Education
  • Master's Degree in the field of Behavioral Health (Social Work, Counseling, Psychology) from and accredited program
  • License, Certification, Registration
  • Current State of California license, in either MFT, LCSW, Psychologist or RN.
  • Have an NPI - National Provider Identifier
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Must fully meet the requirements for the State.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local regulatory requirements
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and to utilize theories, principles, practices, and methods of BHT/ABA.
  • Ability for make a determination as it relates to a members age and ability level - as it pertains to clinical goals
  • Strong background in Pediatrics
  • Understanding of assessment, intervention and goal writing
  • Problem Solver
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • BCBA preferred but NOT required
  • PhD/PsyD in the field of Behavioral Health (Social Work, Counseling, Psychology) from and accredited program
