Trimble, Inc. is seeking a new Electrical Engineer to fill an opportunity in Norcross, GA.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will support product or process development activities related to the development, design or manufacturing of Beena Vision products. Beena Vision Systems Inc. is the leading manufacturer of vision-based automatic wayside inspection systems for the railroad industry. Beena Vision has pioneered and developed a number of innovative products using sophisticated machine vision and non-contact measurement technologies. These products are specifically designed to provide valuable information in a variety of areas to effectively assess railcar components and track safety conditions. Beena Vision in its state of the art facility in Norcross, GA, USA, has an extensive R&D program to develop additional advanced systems for automatic monitoring of several critical components of freight and passenger cars, bogies, locomotives, and track components.
Responsibilities:
  • Apply electrical engineering knowledge to the design and development of new products as well as product changes and enhancements
  • Conduct electrical circuit hardware testing and troubleshooting
  • Develop test simulations, test methods and perform required testing or data collection
  • Prepare electrical systems specifications, technical drawings and schematics
  • Support continuation engineering of existing released products
  • Perform reliability analysis leading to product quality improvement
  • Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, drawings, and processes
  • Work with outside design partners and vendors for new product designs and maintain current products
  • Maintain technical coordination with Engineering, products design, test, and manufacturing.
  • Work with other engineering, manufacturing, sales / marketing, and quality assurance staff to coordinate pilot production of new products
  • Resolve PCB design issues with fabrication and manufacturing vendors.
  • Provide engineering support to factory/customer support
  • Undertake support tasks in external facilities
  • Provide and coordinate engineering support for prototype builds and lab testing
Qualifications/skills:
  • BS Degree in Electrical engineering or other related engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • At least 3+ years of relevant engineering work experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience in mixed-signal PCB schematics and layout
  • Experience with Product Engineering and development
  • Experience with Altium Schematic Capture and PCB Design tools
  • Experience with Atlassian tool chain (Jira)
  • Awareness of the interaction of software and hardware in complex
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, signal generators and multimeters for testing purposes
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as closely with others in a small team as the situation require
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills, creative, innovative and open-minded
  • Ability to travel within the U.S. and internationally
  • Self-driven professional able to work in a team or individually, demonstrating a high personal interest in Quality Assurance and committed to producing high quality work
  • Self-motivated to expand current skill set and develop knowledge of Beena Vision product portfolio
