Recruiter, Talent Acquisition

Job Description

We’re looking for a recruiter to join one of Shopify’s fastest growing, hardest working, and fun teams: Talent Acquisition. We're seeking recruiters to join us in our Toronto, Waterloo, and Ottawa offices. We make real, high-impact decisions on whether Shopify is the right place for someone to make their next career move, and we facilitate the process that gets them here. We're all about the people and focus on building and growing teams that execute on Shopify’s long-term vision. We partner with teams across the company and acquire as much information as possible to understand the work they do and what they need to ship. We then make it our mission to find the best people for the right role at the right time .

The role will focus on:

• Developing and maintaining strong business partnerships with hiring managers; Understanding their pain points, motivations, business context, and the roles required to build their teams.
• Identifying, engaging, and selecting the best candidates for Shopify's required needs.
• Facilitating world class candidate experiences.
• Conducting in person, video, and phone interviews.
• Writing job postings.
• Doing research and sourcing to build diverse candidate pipelines.
• Developing and conducting training of hiring managers on bias, interviews, hiring process, use of Lever (our ATS) and other tools.
• Conducting application screening and vetting calls together with recommending and managing short-list interviews, recap discussions, and offer processes.
• Seeing the people you’ve hired have a positive impact in their new role 🚀

You'll need to have:

• High attention to detail both with people and process. You’re able to pick up on nuance, ask excellent questions and plan accordingly. You understand why the details matter when it comes to a person’s experience of a service.
• Genuine curiosity about people and their careers. A desire to listen more than talk.
• A commitment to lifelong learning.
• A highly organized approach. You are able to capture, maintain, organize and juggle priorities in an often chaotic environment.
• A builder’s mindset and a track record of owning problems and caring about how they get solved.
• Experience building high-trust relationships.
• Comfort with a high degree of autonomy. You set your own quality bar high.
• Passion for taking a human-centred approach in everything you do.

Bonus experience:

• Experience in a recruiter role or recruitment function.
• Experience working in a SaaS company or environment.
• Experience as an entrepreneur and/or a passion for entrepreneurship.
