Position Summary

Working from our office in Columbia, Maryland, the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Web Marketing Analyst is a part of the Family Marketing team and will support the implementation and execution of technical SEO website tactics that will drive our new student acquisition through increasing organic traffic. This position will work with stakeholders across Family Marketing, Family Analytics, Product and Software Development teams to help define strategies and tactics that will improve our search engine rankings and result in creating greater awareness of our brands and category. The position requires in-depth knowledge of SEO best practices, with a focus on technical SEO tactics to improve search engine crawlability and site indexing. This person should be able to simultaneously manage diverse projects in a busy, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day execution of search engine optimization (SEO) campaigns across various websites and landing pages; specifically technical SEO efforts.
  • Collaborate in the planning of website updates by participating in initiatives such as page template creation, navigation/IA changes, UX/UI changes, and A/B testing to ensure SEO requirements are present.
  • Create and maintain SEO best practices and processes for website changes that either neutrally or positively impact organic search performance.
  • Coordinate with our external SEO agency and related vendors to ensure our strategy is aligned to meet technical SEO goals around sitespeed, mobile UX, search engine crawlability, and other related factors.
  • Conduct research on web page design and technical functionality specific to optimizing for improved site speed performance.
  • Manage and administer SEO tools and reporting suites. Provide reporting & analysis as needed.
  • Oversee our local listings (Google My Business, Bing Business, etc.) and ensure they are aligned to help drive organic traffic.
  • Serve as subject-matter expert in SEO; continuously learn and keep abreast on latest best-practices and trends in the organic search engine landscape.
  • Assist in the creation, implementation and execution of SEO strategies and roadmaps for short-term and long-term success.
  • Train website administrators and other related peer marketers on SEO practices and tactics.
  • Assist in on-page SEO optimization initiatives as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of SEO experience working either in-house or at an agency; past experience in education-related industry preferred
  • BA/BS degree in marketing, technology or analytics related field is ideal
  • Experience with SEO-related technology platforms such as Moz, BrightEdge, ahrefs, Google Search Console
  • Experience with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics
  • Working knowledge of web content management systems; DNN or WordPress experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of conversion rate optimization, web analytics & website development practices
  • A working knowledge HTML, CSS, and schema markup. Experience with AMP is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to cultivate metrics and identify meaningful trends
  • Strong time management skills, including the prioritization of tasks manage projects to completion
  • Enjoys being a team player in a close, highly collaborative, cross-functional environment
  • Ability to manage project schedules and resources, work on multiple projects with changing priorities while maintaining a sense of urgency about deadlines
  • Flexibility and adaptive skills related to multiple projects
