CCB Risk Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others The role of the Risk Data Quality Analyst is to be a critical member of the Consumer and Community Bank (CCB) Risk Data Office Validation COE team assisting with CCB and Firmwide data validation initiatives. The CCB Risk Data Quality Analyst works with the data content owners, data users, and with the business and IT to execute and drive the application of appropriate data validation, monitoring, reporting, and remediation of data quality issues. The Risk Data Quality Analyst is responsible for gathering data validation requirements, and working with the business to ensure appropriate validations are applied to data used in reports, models and strategies for Risk. The CCB Risk Data Quality Analyst will also be expected to improve data quality and consistency and support program data validation requirements by analyzing process controls and root cause, coordinating activities to support problem resolution, and developing metrics to support processes, as needed. Responsibilities:

  • Individual contributor supporting CCB Risk Chief Data Office execution of the data quality / validation strategy in applying appropriate data validations and issue remediation for critical data elements in conjunction with business and technology partners.
  • Capture data quality validation requirements, review profiling results, document issues and establish data quality monitoring.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert with regard to the identification and application of the data validation requirements. Make suggestions and provide guidance as necessary to ensure adequate coverage of data quality on critical data.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert on the Data Quality processes to support business users and drive adoption of those processes.
  • Define the data quality validation rules and thresholds for Critical Data Elements and applying business data quality guidelines to ensure appropriate monitoring coverage.
  • Ensure data quality validations are implemented and are performing as designed and intended.
  • Partner with Data Uses and Data Management Community for logging, categorizing and performing root cause analysis for data quality issues for Risk Owned critical data elements.
  • Engage with assigned areas within the business to develop/enhance knowledge and subject matter expertise of processes, systems of record and authoritative sources and their usage.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as required on topics such as data usage, data quality rule writing progress.
  • Perform oversight of Risk owned and impacted data to ensure data quality issues are being remediated according to priority and impact.
  • Support development of and providing metrics and KPIs to assess the progress and effectiveness of data quality validations.
  • Support processes to provide regular communications to impacted users of Risk impacted and owned data with data quality issues

  • 5 + years of related data quality/data validation and/or analytical experience in any of the following disciplines: Risk Management, Data Management.
  • Functional experience in a Consumer Banking Risk role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing queries and analyzing related queries.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with data quality tools such as Informatica DQ and Ab Initio DQE or equivalent.
  • Excellent Analytical and Problem Solving skills, with the ability to understand business and technical functions, process information quickly and assess impacts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced MS Office suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
  • Highly organized to keep up with evolving environment
  • Ability to work closely with stakeholders
  • Works independently. Data Quality Analysts will work closely with other stakeholders and are expected to independently provide information related to their individual and group’s book of work, and provide input into prioritization
