The Senior Product Portfolio Manager is responsible for defining go-to-market readiness requirements and orchestrating cross-functional readiness programs resulting in successful customer adoption of our products. This is a position that requires successful collaboration with multiple functional areas within Concur including Product Marketing, Distribution, Finance, Legal, Product Management, and Services. The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial and resourceful with experience in program management and/or project management, ideally in the Software and/or Software as a Service industry.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Orchestrate product readiness activities and product change management (outside of product development) to enable go-to-market and customer success
  • Identify readiness requirements, engage and lead cross-functional stakeholder teams
  • Drive program execution through formal project management, track and report on progress, and employ common governance models
  • Anticipate risks & build risk mitigation plans.
  • Assesses and diagnoses a problem, analyzing interactions between key drivers, engages key stakeholders to vet and validate problems and drive towards resolution of complex challenges, escalating and facilitating decision making on critical issues as necessary
  • Sustain stakeholder engagement, track and support product success initiatives after initial launch
  • Coordinate with product and services to ensure organizational readiness targets and timelines are defined and managed towards in support of launch
  • Define, and manage Early Access Programs, including definition of entry/exit criteria, participant criteria, participant recruitment and success gate management
  • Effectively translate client feedback and Early Access learnings into product and market requirements
  • Facilitate structured feedback processes to drive cross-functional, cross-market prioritization and re-prioritization of launch efforts or requests
  • Manage product retirement and/or replacement initiatives as products move to the end of their lifecycle
  • Serves as a thought leader and mentor to program managers across the organization.

Education Experience & Training required:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience in program/project management.
  • Software and/or Software as a Service industry experience a plus.
  • Corporate travel industry knowledge required.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams, including Product Management, R&D, Sales, Marketing and other cross-functional groups.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Graduate degree preferred

  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to lead and motivate others without authority to drive initiatives to completion
  • Resourceful – leveraging all resources both internal and external to complete
  • Project and Program management – ability effectively drive and communicate status of cross-functional interdependencies required to deliver product readiness, including: offer approval, implementation and support readiness for launch, navigating legal requirements, and product launch preparation
  • Effective internal & external communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
  • Self-motivated and Independent thinker, requiring minimal supervision for decision-making
  • Critical thinking and ability to challenge others on delivery while maintaining strong business relationships
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Strong executive presence, able to escalate issues and manage executive leadership through resolution decision making
  • Software and/or Software as a Service industry experience a plus
  • Experience managing Early Access and/or Beta programs a plus
  • Demonstrates focus on listening and empathy with diverse groups, and facilitates empathy in others
  • Conflict management expertise, able to navigate through disagreement to drive alignment within areas of influence.
