Purpose of Job

Leads and motivates cross-functional team members in the development and implementation of key initiatives. Leads large scale projects requiring the management of cross organizational and cross functional teams and/or systems/processes to improve, synchronize, and integrate process controls, and automation. Drives and directs quality work efforts and advises senior management on issues. Develops and champions test asset development processes and technology improvement opportunities and delegates/oversees the execution of these initiatives. Performs complex and often unique work assignments and provides problem resolution. Anticipates opportunities and potential solutions, and leads team through the problem resolution process.

USAA Information Technology: A Realistic Preview

  • Collaborates with executive management within EBO and across the enterprise to identify, develop and communicate enterprise technical or business strategies based on business knowledge, sound financial principles, established best practices, and the strategic direction of the Enterprise.
  • Drives direction for advanced test asset development based on industry knowledge, business and technology roadmaps and influences decisions made in the domain.
  • Drives the development of processes and procedures, and leads efforts to improve domain.
  • Reviews complex test assets and provides guidance to technical challenges or issues.
  • Benchmarks against industry standards to lead to the development of the most complex test automation practices/standards.
  • Independently evaluates test asset issues on projects and other efforts ensuring team member deliverable compliance/completeness.
  • Applies expert knowledge of security vulnerability and compliance testing/scanning to the development of best practices.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • 6 or more years relevant business support in automated testing, security/compliance testing, and/or other technical testing methodologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of automated testing techniques and/or testing methodologies and tools.

Preferred

  • 5 years of experience building and maintaining automated CI/CD test pipelines
  • 5 years of experience defining and developing performance test suites utilizing JMeter or equivalent technology
  • 5 years of experience defining, building and supporting full end-to-end testing and validation of REST and SOAP services
  • 5 years of experience building testing scenarios for web services utilizing ReadyAPI, SOAPUI, or equivalent technology
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipeline or equivalent CI/CD build, test, deploy pipeline technologies
  • Passion for automation and integration of quality assurance into CI/CD pipeline
