Summary
Yelp is looking for a leader for our growing Security Infrastructure Engineering team in London. It's an opportunity to have tremendous impact and broad scope protecting Yelp's production infrastructure, systems, and data for millions of users around the world. As a Security Infrastructure Engineering Manager, you'll lead a team of engineers that are experts in security, as well as in deploying software and systems that support feature and platform teams across all of Yelp’s Engineering organization. You'll work collaboratively across offices and the org as a whole to ensure your team meets internal customers’ needs.
Where You Come In:
- You will hire, mentor, and grow a team of Security engineers
- You will help define the long-term roadmap for Security infrastructure and tooling
- You will collaborate with other Yelp teams to deploy new security-related tools and processes across the organization
- You will establish best practices and processes for incident response
- You will understand the vendor landscape and participate in build vs. buy decisions for security products
- You will lead large-scale incident responses
- You will lead threat modeling and risk analysis exercises
- You will collaborate with other infrastructure teams to improve the security posture and capabilities of Yelp’s production infrastructure
- You will develop endpoint signals and data pipelines to ingest them into data analysis tools
- You will instrument anomaly detection and analysis of vast amounts of event data
- You will build DFIR tools and infrastructure to keep us one step ahead of the bad guys
What We Are Looking For:
- You have previous work experience working to secure consumer websites, mobile applications, or large corporate infrastructure
- You have experience with large-scale distributed software systems (such as Kafka, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, Docker, and Splunk)
- You have people management and project leadership experience
- You have a passion for creating exceptional experiences for developers across Yelp
- You have the ability to participate in 24/7 incident response when necessary
- You hold a BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- You have excellent communication skills
- You have software development experience in Python, Java, JavaScript, Objective-C, or similar
